I have been stating on here for a while now that Rs need to switch to D to vote in the primaries. Otherwise, your vote is a throwaway, and we may end up with an uber progressive. |
Independents need to switch, too. 3 of my neighbors are Independent. I'm like, "That's a terrible move." They ONLY get to vote for the school board in the primary, not even the judges (which are on both the R and D primary ballots). |
| Yesterday’s votes were largely from down county precincts. Which favors Elrich . I don’t know anyone upcounty whose vote has been counted yet. |
I'm an independent, and I loved my BOE-only ballot. There's no way I'm registering as an R or a D. |
Why even vote at all? |
I don't want to vote in person because I'm trans and haven't changed my legal name. I don't want to give that name out to people and I don't want people to question my identity or look at me like I'm a circus act. This has nothing to do with the grocery store which I can go to without interacting with other people or giving out my legal name. |
Clearly, I was referring to COVID risk. There are a lot of situations where mail-in voting is justified or makes sense, and of course yours is one of them. I'm sorry you have to deal with that. I definitely know people though who go to the grocery store in person but requested a mail in ballot because they were worried about the COVID risk (or just felt it would be more convenient to get a mail in ballot). |
Why not? I vote in every election. |
So you don't want ANY input on Governor? or County Executive?? |
How do you know Saturday's votes were down-county? |
Most important: From observers who were present. Minor importance: from my own counts that showed Riemer doing better than his average. Which I took to mean they were counting more downcounty votes. |
| 21 votes! |
+1 ^PP's vote is a throw away. Don't complain about the County elected officials, then, since you couldn't be bothered to vote for one. -former R, turned Indepdent, registered in Moco as D so I could vote in the primary. BTW, I switched back to R in 2016 to vote for anyone else other than Trump, then switched back to D later. It's super easy to do in MoCo. You really have no excuse. |
Oh. My. God. That's so funny. It took me a second to process this because it seems so absurd. Someone that isn't even from Maryland is posting in a thread about MoCo County Executive. What's next, going to check on message boards for Honolulu Dog Catcher? The county executive is a hyper local position. I have no clue who's running in say, Alexandria city council nor do I care. |
I live close enough that the idiotic decisions in Montgomery County affect me personally from a$$hole people to a$$hole drivers to increased traffic. The same people who scream "I will never cross the bridge" do so because they now have no choice. They take their attitudes with them |
