I have a bad feeling Elrich is going to win it at the end.

I have a good feeling Elrich is going to win it at the end. Four more years!

People get the government they deserve, and this sucks. He is so awful. MoCo has been in decline. And now it will accelerate. Nobody is paying attention, especially what local media we have. But there will be no hiding it during a second term.

People only get the government that they deserve —when they have candidates who reflect their priorities to choose from.

I disagree. No candidate is perfect. If there aren't people who reflect your priorities, run. We can't be passive, or again, we get what we deserve.

The exorbitant amount of money the county is burning through and wasting on an issue most don’t know about would piss everyone off.

Maybe they will care when they get a tax increase "and" more service cuts in the next year or two? Do people pay attention to those things? Or just feel comfortable in their blue bubble because Elrich is foolishly trying to recruit Tesla to relocate here because of Texas abortion laws?

Do we have any shred of pragmatism left? Or just vote to virtue signal?

I need people to wake up. Just because a candidate (or incumbent) esposes the same positions as a voter doesn't mean s/he can deliver. And it doesn't mean s/he can make the trains run. We can't afford the extra couple of million Elrich is sinking into abortion clinics if we have insufficient tax revenues. To date, he's been cutting core services to pay for all the cool progressive stuff like housing bus loads of undocumented immigrants, paying for their civil immigration defense, sending $18 million a year to a Green Bank, purchasing only hybrid and electric vehicles that have much higher upfront costs and unproven long-term savings, making all our buidings net zero (inflating capital budgets 10% or so, while delaying your schools to make room in the CIP), and threatening to shut down the incinerator before he has a better waste disposal plan to take its place. I will not be at all surprised if we end up with a trash collection issue in the future.

And perhaps one of the worst things he AND council are doing is shredding existing programs and services in the name of racial equity, actually causing more harm than good to communities of color.

I don't think I know about this issue. What is the issue?

PS, I voted Blair because I knew Elrich is a freakin' idiot.

This poster has captured why I left (in addition to the decline of schools) after 27 years as a resident.

Didn’t Blair also promise to shut down the incinerator, put solar panels on farm land and institute residential compost pickups countywide— he got the Sierra Club endorsement not Elrich so I don’t see why you assume that Elrich is the only one with out there policies.

Why are solar panels in the agricultural reserve a bad thing?

How many more ballots to count?

+1 I'm confused. BOE Twitter indicates counting is all finished but State website indicates provisional ballots have only been partially reported

Where are you seeing that indicator on the state website?

Are you referring to the * by the check in the provisional column?

There was an * under Mail In 2 after the Friday counting, even though the article on Bethesda Beat said all Mail Ins had been counted by Friday.

34 votes remain. 42 votes difference.

Elrich wins.

Elrich wins.

Really devastating for county employees. Other than D & D in his office, absolutely nobody wanted him back.
