Oh, and since I'm asking, do you feel that Ivanka and Jared should also be investigated? If not, why not?

Sure, investigate them all.
I want other people to acknowledge and accept (and talk about) the fact that major US multimedia companies (Twitter and Facebook, etc.) summarily dismissed a story (and banned a paper - the Post, but still) that has been since proven true. Just the fact that it is Hunter’s laptop was not allowed to be discussed and that should be a huge deal.
I want people to make sure that we don’t allow the media to suppress or misrepresent facts and eschew accountability. I want people to think of the implications of this beyond Repubs.

I want a pony. And Machine wants collegilal compromise.

In the real world, the alt-right have overtaken so much of the Republican party and media that nonsense cannot be allowed. Twitter and Facebook wised up. Eventually.

In the real world, aka not your imaginary world of "alt-right" taking over the Republican party, the laptop and how it was handled is extremely damaging. People have no faith or confidence in the media and big tech. And now it looks clear key government officials also deliberately lied to pretend the laptop was "Russian collusion," people increasingly also have no faith or confidence in the leadership of the government. Twitter banned any discussion of the laptop for, what, two weeks, as misinformation. Be very honest with yourself: had this laptop been Donald Trump Junior's, would twitter have done the same? You and I both know the answer is no.

You'd have to be blind to not see how bad this appears to the rank and file public. But I also know it's pointless pointing this out to certain posters on DCUM

Exactly, We have 51 former intelligence officials writing a public letter claiming this was Russian disinformation. Without a shred of evidence for that claim.
Great intelligence there, geniuses.

And, people wonder why we don't trust the US intelligence agencies.

I just wonder if there was any coordination between the Biden campaign, the tech companies, the media and any of these so-called intelligence officials to ensure this story was buried.

If by "people" you mean non-Republicans, I don't think they wonder where that distrust comes from; they KNOW where it comes from. They know that part of Trump's m.o. was to sow distrust of the CIA, FBI, Justice Department, State Department, and pretty much any government agency that didn't obey him. A corollary was to create distrust of the MSM and the elections process. So if people are told not to trust federal government agencies, not to trust the conventional media, not to trust the integrity of elections, not to trust anyone who is not a Trump-supporting Republican, not to trust science and the CDC, then WTF is left?

Oh, please. They brought mistrust on themselves once the whole FISA scandal was brought to light.
And, those lovely texts between Strzok and Page. And, McCabe and his lies.
And, the letter these 51 officials wrote doesn't help their cause one iota.

DP. "Rank and file public" to you means Republicans to the rest of us. I don't think that Democrats have lost faith in the mainstream media.

Actually, both Republicans and Independents have very low trust in the media.
While the trust on the part of Dems is higher, it is certainly not 100%

It's true that trust in institutions is at an all time low now.

But PP who is all het up about this laptop, this is a fun game to her. She's forgotten that some people take this stuff seriously. Edgar Maddison Welch did.

You don’t have to defend or minimize everything that Democrats do wrong.

Before the laptop was “Russian disinformation” and now it’s “distracting from Russia and Ukraine.”

Just admit this one and move on.

You want us to say Hunter is a scumbag? That’s all you want. JFC you’re pathetic.

Knock this crap off already. We've had enough.

Have you read the emails?

10% for the big man.

The person who keeps say “10% for the big man” has some weird mental defect. Fing weird as hell.

I'm more interested in this story than the one on the laptop.

The public deserves to know why NYC prosecutors investigating Trump resigned

I believe it was Hunter who said that originally.

Not true.

They all lost their jobs, as they should.
Just because McCabe got his pension back, that doesn't mean he was absolved.

All 3 brought shame to the FBI. Along with others like Kevin Clinesmith.
It will take quite a bit of time and purging for the FBI to improve its reputation.

A poll showed 1 in 7 democrats would not vote Biden due to the laptop. Which is why they suppressed it.
