Yup. Plenty of us saw the long-game. |
Nothing will happen. She will have an abortion safely and legally because she has means and lives in a liberal state. This is a case that wouls remove rights from poor, mostly minority women only, and everyone involved knows that. |
Ya, privileged DC far left elitists should dictate what health laws the people of Mississippi want for themselves because. . . that's democracy. ![]() |
No one is forcing women in Mississippi to get an abortion if they don’t want one. |
Oh right, just forcing women in Mississippi to inject themselves with a novel vaccine or else be unemployed. Gotcha. |
Mississippi is not generally interested in what its voters want: https://mississippitoday.org/2021/05/14/mississippi-supreme-court-overturns-medical-marijuana-initiative-65/ I don't think there's any evidence the "people of Mississippi" wanted this law. |
I sincerely hope that with the push to end Roe that it will also turn on IVF. I mean isn't that what pro-lifers want? Life begins at conception. IVF isn't even really conception right? So no more IVF. Or at the minimum rich white women/couples are forced to carry to term embryos that are deemed not viable for life.

People did. Of course, not the majority of the people that voted, but yes, ELECTORAL COLLEGE. I get it. The theory at work here is that Trump's actions after the 2020 election in trying to get Biden's win overthrown, should negate the authority of his appointments and those three justices should be removed. I am not really on board with that, but it's pretty rich that three justices are sitting there under the appointment of a one-term President that didn't win the popular vote and refused to accept the results of the election he lost. I mean, this isn't really representation. This is ivory tower ideologues making decisions that affect us all. |
In Mississippi
9 children have died due to COVID 3,194 children died by abortion in 2019 Imagine if not having an abortion was a condition to employment for the sake of saving childrens lives there. I just don't see the synthesis of the logic used in support of abortion except for being real honest with ourselves and admitting ok, 99% of time, it's a convenience thing and it's not about right to privacy in our bodies, it's not about saving lives. It's convenience. It's birth control. Be honest with yourselves |
I know it's childish but this works for me, the people making these decisions and the crowd who is (very easily) swaying them all generally start families later in life, it comes with the territory. So let's takeaway their back up plan. |
You're starting to understand. Now post the statistics about how an unwanted baby reduces a woman's educational prospects, financial security, wrecks career, etc. That's what birth control means. Do you want educational, financial, career control for women? Or not? |
While you’re listing statistics, check how many women have died giving birth in Mississippi. |
I think more females died being aborted |
What makes you think the people in MS want this? It is an incredibly poor state where voter suppression runs rampant. |
