The prosecutors are recommending a sentence at the minimum end for Huffman (@4 months in prison) because all things considered her crime is of a lesser degree than the people who paid off coaches or both arranged for fake exams & paid off coaches.

Expressing fulsome remorse and acknowledging what she did is a part of getting the recommendation for a relatively light sentence.

Exactly. I'm sure that she's very regretful that she's been caught red handed and had no other real choice but to make a plea deal and express remorse. I wonder how much her lawyer helped her to craft that statement.

It was a foolishly stupid thing that she did. But it was also fraud, that's a crime and she needs to accept and serve her punishment.

That's what's happening. She will do some jail time and pay a fine. Up to the judge when she will be sentenced and when her sentence begins.

The shakeup in the Trump Administration continued on Wednesday as Donald Trump named a fellow television personality, Lori Loughlin, to be the new Secretary of Education.

In making the announcement, Trump praised Loughlin for her “disruptive approach” to college admissions and expressed hope that she could bring the same brand of innovative thinking to the Department of Education.

He brushed aside reporters’ questions about the means by which Loughlin obtained college placements for her two daughters. “No one here has a problem with that,” he said. “I know Jared doesn’t.”

The outgoing Secretary of Education, Betsy DeVos, said that she was grateful to have served in the Cabinet and that she would continue to work toward eviscerating American schools as a private citizen.

Great! A ring of middle aged test "proctors" taking and rigging standardized test scores for unscrupulous rich people's kids. No wonder there are so many geniuses in the 99th percentile.

Our honest non-cheating kids take these tests and we pay good money for these tests why again?
