Face facts. Oakton remains undefeated and they have won every close game this season. Seniors make a difference. 9-10 start for them. Goalie for Centreville kept them in the game. 22 great game. Warrior. I don’t criticize coaches who give up all their time for 2 grand a season from one of the richest counties in the US. Friggin joke. Be glad all the coaches are volunteering their time. Parents can be such jackasses. Girls played hard and it was a great game to watch. |
This is a moronic post. While there could be some (I’m not in the know) merit to a critique of oakton coach it’s not to be had at 15-0. Move on.
My take on centreville… it appears to be a very divided team and parent group. They battle each other on this board to promote their own. See dad who bashed his star players mid season to pump the goalie, deleted his post, and now plays nice guy grill master. I sense sone girls and parents are not enjoying the iso offense making them irrelevant. That will not work in the next level she is certain to have, especially the flops. These will not be fouls at D1 lax and the coaches and refs are doing this level of player a disservice by rewarding with PS A good coach would encourage finding the open player when there vs scoring 8 goals on 42 shots Stats are overrated. Except one in girls lax… draw control percentage. |
If my aunt had nuts she’d be my uncle. . .
It was a great game maybe a bit tipped because of bad officiating but it was a great way to kill a few hours. Congratulations to both teams, you both played great. |
There were no lead changes in the Oakton vs Centerville game. Oakton led the whole way until Centerville tied it with six minutes left. Oakton’s #11 scored the next two and they added a man up goal to seal the win. |
2 grand?!?! Shoot, I’m under paid!
I lose money every year. 😂 |
It’s worth noting that Oakton’s main offense and defense assistants both played at Oakton the last time Oakton won the state championship and went on to play D1 lacrosse (I think at JMU and UConn). So, I don’t think 15-0 Oakton suffers from poor or inexperienced coaching. It’s curious (and hilarious) that fans of the losing team are criticizing the victor’s coaching because they stuck with the same strategy that won when these teams met in the regular season. It’s worked twice, so what does that say about the Centerville coaching staff? |
Oakton -4.5 Tuesday nite?
Curious about battlejack outcome? Change legit? |

Oakton beats Madison by 6 |
Some idiot posted about the “cult” out at centreville and bunch of stupid sh@t but, after watching them the last few years he/she/ them/ Apache attack helicopter might be on to something.
Their varsity is solid but you watch “more” out there and it’s interesting. Tiny rec program feeding (what’s been described to me as) 4 HS but their feeder JV team is getting good. Their varsity coach has turned an entire program that people used to laugh at into a respectful program. Be interesting to see if one of the privates or a college program snaps her up. |
No idea good coach or not but if they do their job and support the agenda asu staff realistic. |
Oakton is definitely coached by their assistants … mainly the JMU alum. Both cville and oakton JMU alums battle it out, love to watch them coach! |
I think the comment was more towards giving the coach of the year award to a coach who is expected to be a perennial powerhouse, vs a coach who is making their program better every year to compete with said powerhouse. Nothing against him as a coach, just as I take it. Not sure if you have watched the games, but I like how the Oakton and Centreville head coaches always chat post game and show great camaraderie. Nice to see a more seasoned coach in Oakton supporting the growth of his peer at Centreville, unlike most parents seem to think is happening on here. |
Centreville parents have anything positive to say about some of the teams they lost to? -- Madison, Battlefield, South Lakes, and Oakton
I will start. Personally love playing Centreville. Anytime you play them you know you are going to have a great game. Wildcat players leave everything on the field and coaches are always well prepared and pushing their players to get better & better. Games like this make players on both teams better and prepare for Regional & State play. Good luck to several of their players who will continue to play in college. Never had the BBQ (I need to try it) but the game announcer is one of the best if not thee best in the area. Would be nice to get back to more positive post & respect for each team. |
The Centerville coach is highly regarded, and should be, but it’s hard to pass over the coaches of an undefeated team that has prevailed over every other team in the district. Oakton’s coaches also deserve kudos for fostering confidence, getting more players involved in the scoring, running a very successful defense, and not trying to run up the score on weak opponents.
