I literally don't understand how this can be good. The economy was the ONLY thing that was going for trump, if we go into a (temporary) RECESSION then he's got nothing.

If the economy rebounds and people start "getting paychecks" (as you say) then he'll have a slight chance of winning again which isn't good for anyone.

I'm not so politically obsessed to want people to suffer unemployment just to defeat Trump in November. Which is the message coming across in your thread. It's great news people are getting rehired! It's good news! Because it also means Covid-19 is retreating as a threat.

People getting paychecks is huge and also extremely positive. People can buy food and pay for their housing.

Honestly I live in one of the poorest counties in Maryland.
The Mall is busy (it has opened) and the grocery stores are busy. Restaurants are open with plexiglass dividers between booths.

Having people return to work after social distancing is very, very positive.
