Just 8 hours ago this is what has been reported in quickly declining Italian cases and death numbers:

Italy records 88 new coronavirus deaths on Thursday, 177 new cases

And more great news from Italy in graphs:

Looking at those graphs is so uplifting. Italy crossed from the dark side back into the light.

Truly uplifting and inspiring.

Vatican City aka Holy Sea ..

There might be something of a miracle there.. not only they had only 12 cases in total AND are down to ZERO now but look at their graph!
You don't see this every day.

In Scandinavia things are looking good too..

Norway never barely passed 8000 cases in total and now is down to a baker's dozen (give or take one).

And I know you are asking and what about Sweden since the two countries implemented entirely different approach, for those who did not follow -
Norway locked down, Sweden never did. Keep in mind that the Sweden is almost exactly double the population of Noraway
Sweden - 10.23M
Norway - 5.3M

You be the judge.

Anonymous wrote:Sweden is also overall quite interesting case as all those who are watching it know.
Considering that we are comparing a country of 10 Million people with a state of 20 Million,
When you look at the NY state, remember that you are looking at twice the size of the population of Sweden,
but the case numbers and the Deaths cases are far greater then just two times.
So while the Swedish socio/epidemiological project is not yet done, it is almost over and
this is how the raw numbers compare:

Sweden - Population circa 10 Million
Coronavirus Cases:
41,883
Deaths:
4,562

New York - Population circa 20 million.
Coronavirus Cases:
383,899
Deaths:
30,281

I'll admit I have no medical background or knowledge... So can you explain this to me in layman's terms?

Does it mean that NOT closing down a city/country is actually more beneficial in the long run?

Please excuse me if this question is silly sounding, mods please delete if it doesn't belong in this thread

The beauty of any raw data is such that you don't need the next person to tell you what to think, you can look at the data and make your own conclusion.

Oh, it's you again lol.
Welcome back

Please do start you own thread for all those who are looking for TERRIBLE news.

You are in Good and uplifting news room. You need to relocate to another thread. There are plenty old ones and you can always start a new one.

So you know what to do now. Do post elsewhere. There is 99999999 threads on bad news and ONE on good news. Why is it so hard to understand that we want to keep one thread Debbie Downer free?
