No. Rural white Americans represent the largest percentage of safety net recipients.

I'm glad that despite the government shutdown, our taxes will still be able to flow to Israel unimpeded. Amazing!

This. Rural America is so screwed.

I’m still not understanding how the POTUS doesn’t need approval from Congress to close federal departments or withhold funding already approved by Congress (in addition to tearing down part of the WH and in his mind potentially going to war on Venezuela), but he is beholden to Congress to keep the government open.

This is a tactical risk the Democrats are taking here. The AG can just rebuke the whole shutdown theory of the Carter admin and look like a hero for doing it.

This is the strategy. There is no shutdown. We were told to go back to work at HHS and continue all operations normally starting on Monday. They claim to have found fees to fund us but our work is narrowed to one area of funded services. Either we are all being asked to violate the Anti Deficiency Act or they are reinterpreting the law so that what they have asked us to do is not a violation. I’m sure that all other agencies are operating the same way- operations that are Trump priorities are continuing forward.

Not PP, but I am in a better space than most rural 'mericans in red states that rely heavily on federal funding. They are typically insulated from their bad decisions thanks to the Dems and now it's time to stand back and let it all burn. You voted for chaos ignorantly believing it will only affect only Dems. Surprise Bubba, you are about to finally get exactly what you deserve.
