The best response to the flood the zone strategy is to do as much activism you can and vote- knowing the play by play of Republican corruption is not necessary. We all know that they are corrupt. Even their own voters know and do not care, as long as the right people are getting hurt.

But some of the GOP senators are saying they won't kill the filibuster. They probably see the writing on the wall, that they could lose control of the Senate and then be powerless against Democrats.

Trump will always take a short-term win at the expense of the GOP's long-term goals. The filibuster is absolutely essential to the Republicans' access to the levers of power over the past 100 years.

Democrats know that Trump is not a patient man and are exploiting his short-sightedness.

The filibuster increases the power of the Republicans. The senate is already structurally constructed to give small rural state more power vs large states. The filibuster increases this in balance and gives the small rural population a disproportionate representation. In addition filibusters stops all change. If a new party wins the senate they should be able to pass laws on a simple majority. If you want to filibuster you have to show and hold the flood.
