Yeah, I don't think he wanted this video released. Nope, he was trying to drum up public sympathy for this family and that video ain't going to do it. He's a lying scumbag and, while I feel for Chloe's family, I think they are wrong to pursue this lawsuit. The cruise line did nothing wrong. Grandpa is the sole reason for Chloe's death. |

In the video, he clearly lifts the girl up and over the railing.
I hate cruises and you'd have to pay me to take a trip on one, but this is moron, idiotic negligent human error - not at all the fault of the cruise ship. The parents need someone (not a lawyer) to help them come to terms with things. If anything, so they can begin the grieving process in a non-deflective way. |
| He held her there for like 25 seconds. He seems to hold her for a bit and then reposition her to place her further out when he dropped her. This is not the cruise line's fault. You gotta have some sense. |
That would be a submarine. |
| Next thing you know he'll be saying that he didn't realize it was concrete down there. He thought it was a cotton covered trampoline that he was dropping her on. |
| Who would expect there to be a hard surface right outside of a high window? |
Uh huh. Hi grandpa. It’s your fault. |

I saw an interview Anello did with a CBS News anchor a few weeks ago. The anchor had seen the video and was discussing what happened with Anello. Of course you can't see a lot of detail on the video, so the anchor asked "how were you holding her? Like a bear hug with both arms?" and Anello says "yes" (he had both of his forearms wrapped around her).
Then Anello said he leaned the girl forward while holding her with just one of his arms wrapped around her torso and the other of his arms reaching forward to rap on the window he thought was there. And then he saw her fall all the way down. That is what he told the CBS News guy. Clearly, that was all just made up in his head b/c that's what he desperately wants to believe happened. But, it bears NO relation to the truth. (as seen in the videos). Under extreme stress, I think people's brains are just wired to re-create and then re-remember events in a way that makes sense to them after the fact. Anello's brain is thinking that he couldn't have dropped the child out the window b/c only a horrible person would do that. So, he creates a vision of what "must have" happened to protect himself from being that horrible person who did, in fact, hold her out the window and drop her. He actually believes that his made up story is what must have happened. I think the same thing probably happened with OJ. He killed his exwife and Ron G. But, he can't believe he actually did it, so he created a new "memory" of what must have happened instead. The brain is powerful in protecting us from the most horrible reality. |
| He’s only 51??????? |
Well, the family's lawyer has watched the video and the video shows exactly what Anello did. Yet the lawyer persists in the lawsuit and the family refuses to view the video. Why is that? |
Yep. And he was still employed in IT at the time of this incident. The guy is in terrible shape but he was no doddering old man. |
I really thought he was late 60’s/maybe even 70. |
I thought that, too, and I'm in my mid 50's. But, nope, he's in his EARLY 50's. Dude must eat nothing but crap. |
| I’m late to this discussion, sorry to ask...if the family hadn’t sued Royal Caribbean, would the grandfather have been charged? |
Of course! RC doesn’t control the state’s attorney. |
