The lawsuit against Royal Caribbean/toddler death

Anonymous
Ok when you put the two videos together it is clear he had to have known. That is a full on Michael Jackson Blanket situation! I think he was trying to be the super fun grandpa. I will point out again that this dude is 51, not grampy grandpa but the same age as many of us here. I can't imagine what the hell he was thinking.

Also that show with the talking chicken is the weirdest thing I have ever seen!

People are afraid to say anything that can be construed as "criticizing someone's parenting (or in this case, grandparenting.)"

It could be this, the video is not clear, but it looks like people are just going around minding their own business. Nobody was paying attention to him.

And to the person who is criticizing people are defending the cruise ship, just because they are a corporation doesn’t mean that they are worthy of being held accountable for somethings they were not responsible for.

Agree to everything you just said.

There is just no way he didn't know it was open. No. Way.

Yes. It's even more damning than I thought it would be.

It looks to me like you can even see the sun shining on his head when he leans out.
Awful shit.

“They walk over to the wall of windows where Anello appears to look over the railing, through the open window. Anello picks Chloe up and stands her up on the railing, and they appear to lean over together looking out over the port.

Then he re-adjusts and sits Chloe on the railing, still facing the port. They lean over again and she disappears from the frame.”

Grandpa is lying.

Why do people lie when they know there's video of their actions? This and the reporter assaulter... it's mind boggling. YOU. ARE. ON. VIDEOTAPE. Why do you lie??!

I’m sure it’s hard for his brain to accept that he’s responsible for the death of a small child. And not in an “oops I backed out of the driveway and didn’t see her” way, but he DECIDED to pick her up and lean her out a window. It’s so astoundingly stupid and he’s clearly not in touch with reality in parading around telling his story. I don’t know how the lawyer, having viewed this video, could encourage the continual telling of the glass wall story.

I do still feel bad for the parents even though others say they’re greedy. I don’t think that’s it. I’m sure they’d give anything in the world to have their daughter back. But accepting the fact someone you trusted brought about an incredibly awful death for your child has to be excruciatingly difficult to process. I wish they’d take a step back from the media spotlight. I don’t think it’s helping them. But my stomach churns at the thought of learning one of my parents killed my child.

The parents are willing to DESTROY someone else (in this case, Royal Caribbean) who did NOTHING wrong. That is pure evil. They deserve every "excruciating" moment they face.

JFC the cruise line is nowhere near being destroyed. It sounds like they want accountability— screens, warnings, etc. I’m not necessarily saying those things are reasonably needed. But I think the parents are grasping at straws “to do something.” They’re not trying to sue them out of existence.

Why are you so defensive of a giant corporation? And yet completely heartless and unable to have any sympathy for these parents who lost a child?

Fake lawsuits ultimately cost all of us more money in goods and services.

Agree. Full on Michael Jackson Blanket. The difference is Blanket survived.

Who wants to go on a cruise in which there is no breeze and no windows.

Exactly. I suppose the cruise lines are now expected to put gigantic plastic bubbles around their ships to prevent others from doing what no one else in their right mind would EVER do?

Come on. No sign or plastic bubble is going to be completely idiot proof. This is the type of guy who would toss the baby high up into the air cracking her skull on the plastic bubble.

And Michael Jackson never denied dangling Blanket off the balcony. He did it, he knew he did it and he didn't GAF that he did it.

How awful. He literally puts her out the window it seems.

Ugh, I don’t know that I can bring myself to watch it, as much as I would like to know what really happened.

It's not graphic or close, but grainy security footage. But enough you can tell he was leaning out the open window.

It's here, via the weird talk show commentary. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NHKVDMDKZk4

Wow, wow, WOW. He was totally out that window.

The lawyer should lose his license for this. Seriously.

In the first video, as bad as it was, you could see which windows were open from halfway across the deck. The side video clearly shows Lying Grandpa leans way out the window before picking up Chloe and holding her out the window. What f*ckheads to say it's the cruise liner's fault.

Most cruise ships have glass bubble windows. Grandpa wasn't aware this cruise didn't have those. /S

I think the second video was much clearer. I just don't know what the lawyer is thinking. I guess in his game, all publicity is good publicity.
