+1 they are going to be fed to the lions. why are they doing this to themselves....

I don’t know but their attitude in their interviews really really rubs me the wrong way.

It's not your cruise ship, why do you care?

It's loud and obnoxious to everyone else around them.

You've never been on a cruise ship, I take it?

You are correct. If cruise ships are full of people who have no regard for basic manners, it's probably best I never go on one.

They just don't take ANY responsibility for the death of the child at all. That's what's so irritating to everyone.

And frankly, I think they impeding their healing and mental health by rejecting what happened -- the person they trusted with their child caused her death. Filing the lawsuit puts them in the position where they HAVE to sustain their initial grief and HAVE to continuing blaming Royal Carib. None of that is good for their mental health.

There is a reason the lawyer isn't showing the video to the public.

Ugh I hope that doesn’t become public!

Pp here. You are right. It’s the bold that bugs me.

Grandpa clearly deliberately lifted her him so she could feel the air/breeze, and lost his grip. Don't dangle toddlers out of windows and then blame someone else for your stupidity.

Agree that the whole kid was used to banging on hockey glass rationale doesn't make sense. There was no reason to LIFT her so she could allegedly bang on the glass. Cruise ship window panel started from the floor. This line of excuse is total bullshit lie someone came up with after the fact.

It's like lifting up a toddler up and over the plexiglass and saying you wanted her to see, and then blaming the rink when she gets hit by a puck, saying they should have protected her. Idiocy.

It's not like it would be gruesome. It would just show what happened when she was alive....on the ship.

Yep. And this ship and her sister ships have operated for 10+ years without issue. If the windows were inherently dangerous something would have happened before now. This was total lack of common sense.

So you think you should be able to hold a baby in an open window and then get money when the baby kicks and slips out of your grip? Like there was no way that good ole grandpa could have seen that one coming?

When Grandpa grew up they didn't have cruise ships with 11 stories. You can't expect him to be able to adapt.

I'm older than Grandpa, hells yeah I understand what being 11 stories up means. I just can not fathom what that man was thinking - I've tried. There simply is no excuse.

OP of this exchange here. I agree. Not justifying what the grandfather did. Just speculating what happened.

That is the defining characteristic of a cruise, and people on it.

+1 to all of the above.

Sure there is, if you think it's soooo adorable that little Susie bangs on glass and you want to make sure everyone around you gets to "enjoy" the noise/experience.

It's not really "glass" at a hockey game, is it? Isn't it plexiglass --- i.e. plastic?

So, even if we took the lawyer/parent/grandpa at their word that she liked to bang on plastic walls at hockey games -- does it make any sense to allow her to bang on REAL GLASS WINDOWS?

I leave my house plenty and typically don't see people banging on windows.
