This was explained earlier in the thread. |
But some people *do* want an attached garage at that price point. The humidity/heat in the summer is horrible. I dread going into my car when it's been parked outside during the summer. Plus, yea, I don't want to have to deal with the snow, even if it's only for a few days, if I don't have to. And I don't since there are plenty of homes around the area with attached garages. Of course I get that some people don't mind, obviously, because there are plenty of people who live there. You have your opinion; I have my mine. |
What is the explanation? I read through the earlier pages, and I didn’t see this explained. |
Are you living in an alternate reality? There are fewer than 20 listings right now, out of about 3,000 homes. If you don’t like the neighborhood that’s fine, but at least engage with facts. |
How would your car be outside if you have a detached garage? It would be ... in the garage. |
| Winter is a bad time to evaluate a real estate market. I know you all know that, so come back in the spring; then you can all talk about how horrible the Kentlands market is, when houses sell in a week. |
Whenever I go to Kentlands, I see folks parking their car out front on the curb. Many don't seem to bother putting their car in the garage. Even if you park it in the garage, I don't want to be lugging my kids and groceries in the rain/heat/snow. No, thank you. RE: HOA - people probably already know what' acceptable and what's not, which is why HOA approves 98% of the requests. People don't bother putting in a request that they know won't be approved. I dislike these restrictive HOAs immensely. |
Most of us have 2 cars and want extra room in the garage, so one car goes on the street. It’s really not a big deal, but if it’s a dealbreaker for you, it’s a good thing you don’t live here. I will say, though, that some of our houses do have attached garages. All the condos do, as well as some of the larger SFHs. |
This is creepy. If I want to paint my front door, it gets published in a newletter that is sent to the entire development? |

I'm also curious , where exactly is this river for kayaking and hiking that is right near the Kentlands? You can't mean the Potomac River because that is pretty far south. If you want to paddle on the Potomac you are better off living in Potomac, Rockville, DC or Poolesville not the Kentlands.
If you mean the man made mini lake at RIO with the foot paddle ducky boats -well hmm. Even then, this is closer to Crown and the Rio not the Kentlands. |
I don't live in the Kentlands but Seneca Creek State Park is near there. Less than 3 miles. |
Yeah, we have a ton of nature right near us. The ag reserve is 15 min away at most. |
Only with your consent. |
I have a two car garage (not in Ketlands) with room to spare. We put both cars - larger suv and smaller one -- in there a long with most of the camping gear, bikes, etc... And room to spare. We also have a basement with loads of room for stuff. When we were looking for a house, we definitely wanted a two car garage so that we could put both cars in there. If I'm going to live in the burbs, I definitely want the advantage of living in one, which usually includes a proper two car garage. |
DP.. still creepy. Everyone knows your business. |
