Plus, what would the repercussions of sharing be? That songs wine would steal the name (unlikely); that someone would know you posted on DCUM?

Oh hmm, that may be me. I once said that I didn't want to name the name because I can identify posters that have slammed my DD's old lady name through context and don't want to out myself. Or are we talking about someone else??

Out yourself...as what? A mom who named her kid Rosemary and occasionaly posts on DCUM?

This was one of the most fascinating and oddly frustrating threads of late. I relished every page.

I'm the OP of the no alcohol/water thread and I still stand by my original assertion that there should be more than just water offered at dinner parties. I'm having a big party this weekend, serving a nice dinner and here's what I'm offering as beverages (no alcohol): water, lemonade, sparkling cranberry juice, and orange juice.

Yeah, you should have alternatives because there's no alcohol. But if there is alcohol, all you need to offer is still and sparkling water!

Cocktail hour is for lemonade and sodas and mixed drinks. Dinner is for water, sparkling water, and wine. You CAN have more, but it's not rude not to have more.

We know you do. Doesn't make it correct, but we know you do!

I frequently think about the pregnancy anxiety poster who was taking the hormone shots and clearly was very troubled. I always wonder how she ended up doing.

Where is this aforementioned “judge and jury” post??

The poster(s) in family relationships forum who pose as their DILs/MILs and detail the situation from their perspective. Ridiculous and hilarious at once.

No, of course not. But if you know Rosemary's mom posts on DCUM and there's another post about a weird social interaction or something else specific, then it's easier to piece together that Rosemary's mom is posting about something that happened at last week's playdate. The best thing about DCUM is the anonymity, I'm not messing that up!

I would think it was so weird if OJ was offered.

There was a poster, a few years ago I think, who was upset and offended that her family seemed hungry/wanted to order more food after she’d made them a home-cooked dinner. Only to find that she was feeding them next to nothing. She would post her menu and quantities and seemed genuinely puzzled that, for example, a stir fry with vegetables only and 2 chicken breasts total was not enough to feed her family of 6, two of whom were teenage athlete boys. She posted with her menu a number of times, and then (hopefully) took the hint that she should just feed them more.

She would crack me up. She cooked one rack of ribs once for everyone to split and was confused how everyone was still hungry.

I remember her! Giggling at the posts.

There is one person or perhaps a couple that seem to have really odd relationships with their older children. The one who was able to talk at great length about her teenaged children's bathroom schedules, shower schedules, etc. and the one who insisted that children needed to be trained to only 'go' at certain times. Don't know if it's the same one who knew how much her teen son weighed, where he was on the growth chart, and who measured out how much food he was given, and seemed to be worried that he was getting fat.

I also enjoy 'how much should a woman who is six feet tall and wears a size four weigh?" What size do you weigh if you are five foot six and wear a size two? and all of the endless permutations. here too I wonder if there isn't somewhere she could be looking this information up.

The poster who wanted to change her baby's name.

Right? Who is drinking orange juice at a dinner party?
