The worst!

Omg yeah I wa going to say this lady too! Can alllllways count on her to show up (too) promptly. We get it, you never wanted your kids. Really cool.

Really? I am the worst? I'm worse than the parents who helicopter or neglect their kids? I'm worse than the mothers who pass on their disordered eating to their kids? I'm worse than the parents who are so anxious that their kids absorb that and become anxious themselves? Please. My kids are loved, nurtured, and happy.

Yes

If you think I'm worse than all that, then your opinion holds no weight in my eyes. We obviously have different value systems.

I agree with you PP. Outside of neglect, I think an anxious mom raising anxious kids is way worse than a lot of things. It's teaching children a way of being that will
Cause them trouble for life unless they seek help.

NP here. I disagree that simply being anxious is worse than having never wanted your kids. Not “I didn’t want them at first but I love them so much now”, but “I didn’t want kids and still feel that way and I mention it at every possible opportunity on DCUM”.

+1 million. Super weird. That lady makes me really uncomfortable, it's like she takes weird glee in (REPEATEDLY.) telling us how much she didn't want her kids and only had them to keep her husband.

NP here - is this the same poster who agreed to one kid to keep her DH, then was forced to adopt the second child from a family member? Every time I see that poster I feel such pity for the two kids with the mom that never wanted them and spends her days watching DCUM threads for the opportunity to post about it.

You don't need to waste your time feeling bad for my kids. They're happy. I would never tell them I didn't want kids.

Oh, they can tell.

It was a chicken salad. I posted about her, but can’t find the post. Then again, her posts often get deleted.

I highly doubt it. I am 45 and that is not a saying in my repertoire. Try 10 or more years younger, and possibly a male.

I’m guessing 40ish balding white SAH dad who used to play hockey or lacrosse but no longer does due to a sports injury. Wife is the breadwinner.

In the Private School forum:

— whenever somebody complains about something, the poster who always says, “it’s the same/worse in public schools.” So? Therefore all complaints are irrelevant?

— the poster(s) who think that of you don’t send your kid to private school, that’s because you wanted a new kitchen/new car instead.

— GDS trolls.

You don't actually think there is just one "Cool story, bro" poster do you? There are probably hundreds. It has been a popular response/meme for over a decade.

Anonymous wrote:Holton Mom from the Private Schools Forum. Her daughter was rejected by NCS, so she has an anti-NCS vendetta that can only be satisfied by telling everyone that Holton ended up being a fabulous school with great STEM curriculum, amazing crew team opportunities, and that eventually her DD went to Princeton. She shoehorned this story into virtually every thread for a while -- e.g., please recommend an all-girls school; which school has strong STEM classes, anybody have a DD who does crew, etc., etc. She hasn't been around in a while, but she was amazingly on-message.

Didn’t the daughter get a job in NYC? She also totally outed the daughter since there was only one Holton girl on the Princeton crew team at the time she was posting daily about her.

I remember her!

For a while, there also seemed to be paid, or maybe volunteer, Holton boosters here. The problem was that they completely lacked subtlety. Somebody tried to get them to admit something bad about Holton—anything, like weeds on the soccer field or bad cafeteria food—but they couldn’t do it.

We also have two NCS grads from the 80s who still hate the place and think their 30-yr-old experiences are still valid.

(No sour grapes here, my DD turned down NCS and didn’t apply to Holton.)

On the Religion forum:

- ex-Catholic who now hates the church and can’t stop telling us about it. Enough, already, get a real hobby.

- Anglican who thinks the Episcopal Church stole the church buildings her parish wanted to take with them when they left the Episcopal Church. The vitriol about anything Episcopalian is out of control.

- Atheist behind the weekly (Monday like clockwork) anti-Christian posts. Also the basically “plus one” atheists who likes all the first atheists posts. Both of whom demonstrate a complete inability to remember anything explained to them about salvation and atheists.

- Self-identified Jew-Who-Hates-Christians. No, the semester you took on Christianity while you were studying in Rabbinical school does not mean you know more than actual Christians.

- Jew who likes Trump because of his Israel policies and won’t tolerate anything said against the big orange criminal.

- Fundamentalist Christian with the my-way-or-the-highway approach to religion.

The woman who posted about her daughter's pubic hair, its texture, asking if it is normal to be like that for her age. Weird.

The troll that goes on threads just to rile people up.

There may be more than one but there’s one who’s writing style I recognize in different threads.

Someone struck a nerve. Also, thanks for the example of super-lame repartee, just so everyone here gets a taste of what passes for “wit” over there.

So many reasons to stay away from the Religion forum!

YES!! I want to punch that guy.
There's also the one that promotes some Christian counseling thing that I can't remember the name.

You probably couldn’t reach his face over his huge pot belly.

The wealthy finance guy that only pops up in the political forum when the stock market is effing up. He’s also kind and came from humble beginnings. He frequently gives good financial advice.

The poster that rages about holiday cards with a picture of your family on them and always calls them "family ads." Weird.

There was a Jamie Raskin/GDS superfan on these boards for a short spell. Apparently, Jesus himself gave us the gift of Jamie Raskin and Raskin’s success, political and otherwise, was all due to his GDS education.
