Its a new Bravo show which premiered last night. Hilarious!

Enjoy it while it lasts, heard the ratings were really bad. I watched it twice, she is too annoying, it is so phony and poorly acted. I give it one season. As someone who lived on the upper east side in NY for 6 years, I can tell you that its a jungle but that its not THAT bad.

I think it's hilarious. No one on that show is immune from mockery - not the UES moms, or the Brooklyn-ites, and especially not the main character. It's an exaggeration of all these "types".

Ratings are still bad though. Maybe it'll get a second season since bravo only has two scripted series. I wish I could like this and I've tried, but it's off my dvr. It's getting stupider/lamer by the episode.

Agreed.

The kind of people who like this show are the type who enjoy Cathy comics.

LMAO. That is dead on.

Are either of you able to say you dislike a show without slamming those who do like it?

I've never seen a more overly sensitive fanbase on DCUM before. Maybe its just one person, but its amusing to watch them get huffy over anyone who dislikes this piece of shit show.

Maybe if the main character would turn it down a notch or two it wouldn't be so bad. It's like she's popped some pills and is amped up all the time. I also hate the cutesy talk and catch phrases she uses all the time. Sex and the city wouldn't have been such a big success if it had only one of the characters (all Charlotte or all Miranda) there's no balance.

I agree with this. The subject at hand doesn't lend itself to such zany ,slapstick, lowbrow comedy either.

And yet you still watch it and still post on this thread... that's the funniest part!

Hilarious - so many good lines in that episode. Did you see the outtakes at the end with Grenouille sitting in the afterbirth? OMG. And the texts from both Jill and Brooke to their husbands. I slowed it down so I could read all of them.

No, the funniest part is reading the SUPER EXCITED OMG SO FUNNY posts by the people who just lurve this show. I don't watch the show, I'm reading this thread because it amuses me. You are not pointing out anything clever or ironic. Reading certain threads on DCUM is usually enough junk food for most.

Wow - hateful much? You must be a delight to be around. Clearly, you lead a very boring life if you get your kicks posting on a thread which doesn't interest you. But, whatever. Enjoy!

On a side note, I love the dress Brooke gave birth in. Wonder where I can find it?

So funny - I did the same thing. Put the DVR on slow-mo so that I could read each of the texts, pretty entertaining.

..... Sally Jane good one!

Yes! I was thinking the same thing. The actress who plays Brooke cracks me up too. Can't remember her name, but she used to be on SNL.

I just read the book Primates of Park Avenue and all I could see in my head as I was reading was Jill.

I cringe a little at some of the over the top stuff on the show, but, I think it's hilarious.

Same here. That seems to be the entire point of this thread. Most everyone has abandoned ship and it's just these diehard, ridiculously sensitive people who attack anyone who wanders in, just giving their honest opinion (which seems to be, for most, that the show isn't funny)

It's bizarre.
