| Children killed while she parties at the club. So sad. |
i actually have considered those things and know that those horrors are possibilities, however unlikely. that doesn't mean i am willing to make excuses for her or anyone else to make the behavior and the consequences ok. stop making excuses for these people and set up programs and polocies to intervene and make it stop (i.e. take the kids away and require sterilization to stop the multiple generational mess-making). |
| Very sorry, but did the PP just suggest that we forcibly sterilize women? |
Agree |
Yeah, I could understand why someone like you would consider that hysterics. But, that is your state of non-grace and judgmental attitude about people who are unlike you. I also understand that empathy and sympathy is taught, and somehow someone failed you. I'll pray for you and those like you. No, that's a lie, and God knows it's a lie. I really won't. Oh, honey. I think I'll be ok just the same, but thanks. You bet your ass I'm judging this bitch and she is absolutely, POSITIVELY nothing like me. She went out partying while her children burned to death. I have not one ounce of compassion for her. I think someone failed you on basic common sense! No I did not fail common sense. You failed basic common decency and compassion. Your original argument had nothing to do with the woman out partying. Your argument, along with many others, centered on her sexual history. Now that there are reported facts, and not just mere conjectures, I will readily admit that she was a bad, bad mother for partying all night while her babies slept alone at home. I still say that her sexual history is not relevant. So many posters reminded me of the mob mentality of the Salem witch trials. Or try the scaler letter. Or, and you may not be like this woman in this way, but I guarantee just by your posts, there are many who thank the heavens that they are nothing like you. Watch out, lest ye be judged. |
heroin addiction - no pity. low IQ - no excuse. |

What I learned from this thread:
Liberals think its ok to have 6 kids by 6 different men starting at age 16, and to lock my kids in a trailer at night and go clubbing as long as I'm black. Being black excuses me from any for of responsibility or personal accountability. It's the slave owners fault that I make terrible decisions. My brain isn't developed enough to have the innate sense not to do something as stupid as this. It's George Bush's fault. |
| here's the thing -- i don't mind being judged. not stoned, maybe, but i think that social mores help set boundaries and norms. we don't all have to be or think the same, but a common sense of purpose and right and wrong is, in my opinion, a good thing. this "if it feels good do it, any choice you make (or default into) is ok" attitude is not good for this country, and especially not for kids or its weakest and most vulnerable. not judging all too often means that we don't expect people to make good choices, change bad ones, or make a change for the good. i have posted often on this thread because i feel very strongly that being a parent is the most important thing we as humans can do; it is the only decision I can think of that is 100% ours and affects another person (the child) 100%. those poor kids didn't ask to be born, and yet that horrible woman destroyed their lives. |
What I learned from you: you're learning impaired. |
I'm glad to hear at least that you're pro-choice. |
| I don't understand how come the kids were not taken away from this woman by the state. |
| Here's the thing that makes me most upset. Say this woman got herself in a situation where she had 5 kids and realized she couldn't or didn't want to take care of them. There are tons of families who would love to adopt a healthy child under the age of 5. Yes, I know people prefer babies, but younger kids without health issues still get adopted. Why didn't she give them up so that a family who would value them and be able to and want to take care of them would be able to do so? |

How was she poor? 5 kids in a mobile home is not homelessness. Just a lifestyle choice.

Right Having compassion for these poor kids who died needlessly and judging the woman who should have known better is so, so terrible of me. I must be a horrble human being. Get a grip!

Nobody is saying that. Nobody is saying personal accountability is unimportant. Just saying, don't leap to conclusions. |
