A sad story about terrible parenting.

The fact that two of the children had her last name, whereas the other two had different last names, leads me to think that for the ones with her last name, she either didn't know who the father was--or had completely written them out of hers/the children's lives.

One way or another though this mother had more children than she could care for well. And it is frustrating that people don't stop having children when they are struggling to care for the ones they have. Being poor doesn't mean everything in life is out of your hands. I wouldn't even argue a poor person shouldn't have children, but I do think the number of kids she had and the conditions they were all living in suggests a reluctance to take appropriate responsibility for herself/life.

When people insist that a person should be exempt from criticism for certain life choices they've made because they are poor and black, that in and of itself is racist and patronizing. Young, poor, black women can make good choices for themselves, but this person didn't. (and lots of young, poor, white women make bad choices too...and rich white women...just in this case this person was black, and I think the unwillingness to hold her at all responsible for her life is it's own form of prejudice).

Right...because she had access to free, perfect means of birth control. And abortion on demand.

This I just don't understand. Are you really trying to make the argument that this young woman had no means at her to disposal to keep from getting pregnant? Really?

Oh give me a break! I'm a liberal, single mom on one. I have a great job and completely believe in a women's right to choose, but this is beyond ridiculousness. She obviously couldn't afford the ones she had and how many children did she need to bring into this world before she realized that? She could have gotten free condoms and birth control pills, but more importantly where did she find the time to screw around to make 6. I can barely find time to pee and I only have one. Those poor, poor innocent children paid for her stupidity. Her ass should be in jail. Maybe it will keep her from ever having any more.

birth control is much cheaper than having kids. stop making excuses.

The easiest way would have been to spend the evening with the children,( keep the 2 year old out of the street) and most importantly keep her legs shut. Abortion isn't the only way to prevent bringing more children into this world you can't take care of. She should have focused all that energy on her kids instead of spreading her legs.

LOL, yes that is the problem here. I'm SURE all of these kids were the result of failed condoms .... RIGHT.

So now she's a prostitute?

? Where did I say she was receiving money for having sex?

There are many cases where women get pregnant and don't know who the father of the baby is.

Some women have one night stands and don't know the man's full name.

Some women will have sex (unpaid) with several men within a few days time.

Haven't you ever seen those Maury Povich shows?

So fucking what????

Really? 4 kids by 4 different men in less than 6 years gets a "so what" reaction?

For realz! My mother works at the Health Department Clinic (free) - she is more than happy to provide free birth control pills, condoms, deprovera shots - whatever! And please, no one make me laugh and even try to insinuate that all 4 of her kids were planned pregnancies. . .

This thread is so boring. Really.

"Really?" Don't think so or else you wouldn't find posting here entertaining enough to actually do so.

Well, apparently this should be no surprise because it's normal and acceptable. It is common and expected and we should strive for nothing better than to get pregnant by every man we meet. Yup, and then we should feel sorry for her welfare receiving ass because life is so hard for her. Then we should pity her for not having opportunities

Why do I have a feeling she was out working on baby number, what was it now? 7 or 8?

Her ass should have been home with her children. Period.

And the dads! Don't forget the dads. Why weren't they taking care of the kids?

This is what having children at all costs looks like.

She did, actually. It is called abstinence. Or, as my mother might call it, keeping your damned legs closed. Free, respectable, and 100% effective (i.e. perfect).

We don't KNOW anything about her life choices. This is all speculation. People are concluding she's a horrible mom and a horrible person because of different last names of her kids. That's a lot of assuming and judging.

This woman just lost her entire family, and has to live with that guilt. Instead of speculating about what a whore she is why don't you all stick to your Christian values and pray for her.
