“It should never be illegal to remove an illegal voter,” said Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares. “Yet, today a Court – urged by the Biden-Harris Department of Justice – ordered Virginia to put the names of non-citizens back on the voter rolls, mere days before a presidential election. The Department of Justice pulled this shameful, politically motivated stunt 25 days before Election Day, challenging a Virginia process signed into law 18 years ago by a Democrat governor and approved by the Department of Justice in 2006.

I was at the DMV in Springfield in September to renew my license and at the end when you get ready to pay the iPad thing had a “series of questions” to confirm my voter registration (I have been registered to vote in Virginia since I was 18, since the 90s).

The questions were worded in such a bizarre way and the system kept asking me to “reconfirm” my DOB, my place of birth, etc. and then it kept restarting the questions. The DMV worker had to get a supervisor who also didn’t understand the process. Finally it accepted my answers and I could pay and get my license. But the entire experience was weird.

That afternoon I called the city registrar who told me to check my status online. At first I kept getting errors but after a week my registration was there.

I am a lifelong Virginian, married to an immigrant. This will be my 9th presidential election since I turned 18. This system is shady AF. If you think regular people haven’t been flagged and this system hasn’t been dropping legal citizens you’re crazy.
