Vance, welcome to Quayle territory.
Couch PotatoE |
Well, I mean, of you are a member of a group that actually is convicted of this crime with increased frequency, then sure. Not really the drag queens, though. |
| **"if you are" |
| For any NYers on here: We'd have a field day if Seaman's furniture stores were still around. |
Is JD going?

"Have a seat! Just don't start gettin' too handsy." :wink wink: |
The problem here is that they have TOO much integrity. Anywhere else would have been fine with the result of the fact check: Vance did NOT have sex with a couch, it was a funny, but false Twitter joke. BUT some dweeb with TONS of ethics stopped them and said, "Hang about, the accusation was that he WROTE about it, and we can clear that, but NOT that he actually ever effed a couch." The fact they pulled the article means they have a lot of credibility. For a reporter at a serious news outlet, but particularly the AP, it is an enormous, perhaps career altering occurrence to have a story pulled. A correction would be mortifying, but to actually PULL the article could end their career. So they're putting that all out there, just to fix a quibble over JD Vance effing a couch. Incredible. |
Sure. You first! |

Author and journalist Noah Rothman (American writer, editor, former MSNBC commentator, podcaster, and author. He is a senior writer and podcast guest for National Review, and he previously served as associate editor, podcast producer, and online editor for Commentary) slammed the Associated Press as “sleazy” for deleting the article, and for giving the fake claim — which emanated from an anonymous X user with less than 1,800 followers — any oxygen whatsoever.
“Last night, the AP published a ‘fact check’ of utterly unknown nobodies who alleged that JD Vance fornicated a couch, not because anyone believed that but because it introduces that nonsense into the bloodstream. Today, it’s gone. So sleazy.” CNN senior reporter Andy Kaczynski apparently bewildered by the decision to delete the article, posted a link to the deleted AP story, saying, “AP fact-checked what was a joke from left-wing Twitter – but the link for this is dead now and I can no longer find the story on the AP website. What is going on?” |
Oh, totally. I'm not sure what I previously would have thought a couch f-er would look like, but seeing a picture of his bloated, pathetic bearded face I was definitely like, "yeah, that fits!" He looks like a basement dweller incel who'd be into that. |
| If he wasn't raping couches before, he surely will after this election cycle is over. |

I'm worried about what the coffee table will witness. |
