Look, I've been posting threads clearly up mistruths that MAGA freaks are spreading about Harris and Vance and I think it's important that we be fair... it's NOT true that JD Vance wrote in his book that he had sex with couch cushions. It just REALLY seems like it could be true.

Thanks for clearing this up, OP. I saw the meme earlier today but didn’t pay much attention because it didn’t make a lot of sense. It’s a good example of made-up stuff that can spread with lightning speed on social media. There are plenty of other things to attack him on (in his own words) without having to repeat false stories. |
He needs to come out and say this! |
I guess, if we're being completely accurate, we don't know if JD Vance had sex with a couch. It is not true that he admitted it in his book. None of that may matter if Trump catches wind, because Trump loves to collect salacious, even if completely outlandish and untrue, rumors about his political rivals and once he's heard them, he has trouble letting them go and usually turns on the person. He did this with Vance's Senate seat rival in 2022: https://www.thedailybeast.com/trump-fixated-on-ohio-senate-candidate-josh-mandels-sex-life Josh Mandel had Trump's endorsement wrapped up until Trump strated hearing "rumors" about his "weird" sex life. None of it was ever proven or true but it was the kiss of death. Now Vance has his own weird rumors. |
Yup, its one thing that we can't find it in the book, but until he gets on some live television event and addresses the rumors how will we know whether he did it and just didn't write about it? |
Transparency is so important. |
It’s an amazing accusation because, let’s face it, that guy looks like a couch raper. |
I think that’s the problem, we all were thinking it. That’s why he should deny it, loudly and repeatedly. Trump is NOT going to like these rumors but if he wants to stay on the ticket he needs to clean this mess up in a hurry. |
Humping a couch is not bad, we probably all humped a pillow at some stage. It is better than humping the American flag. |
Maybe you’re right. I guess if Vance wants to make a speech admitting and challenging people to ask themselves if they’ve ever had sex with a couch and demanding to know why why they can’t support a candidate who enjoys doing that, then he should. |
Why hasn’t he come out and denied this yet? |
Liars and disinfo types like those who constantly spam the board with false information and aren’t interested in engaging in discourse from a factual and good faith based perspective are usually called out, their threads removed, etc. Why is this thread allowed to stay up? |
This rumor was false.
Vance's memoir contained no such passage. Further, as KnowYourMeme.com reported, @rickrudescalves — who later protected his account so only followers could see his posts — "signaled that he was joking when he followed up the tweet with the Go on the Internet and Tell Lies meme." The anonymous twitter account @rickrudescalves who posted the tweet admitted he was lying and locked down his twitter account. Why are liars posting anonymous from locked down twitter accounts who admit they are spreading lies and misinformation given attention? Why should anyone feel so strongly about a twitter troll lying for attention? |
He needs to pull a Bill Clinton and say, "I did not have sexual relations with that couch." |
This thread is brilliant! Thanks all! |
