Question for someone who knows: is there anything voters can do to actually convince Biden to step aside?

+1 that’s what I’m saying.

You can’t trust people who are doing what democrats are doing- to their own country! And Joe is at death’s door. They are hurting him and don’t care, you think they care about you? Hell no.

Guys, nobody is buying this. The reason people love Trump and hate Trump is because we all know who he is and what he stands for. Himself. All he cares about is himself. The media has not been "hiding" who Trump is. The only thing the media has been guilty of is giving him too much airtime because he is like a car crash, everyone wants to stop and watch.

democrats are killing Joe to maintain power. That’s sick.

Nobody is forcing him to stay in the race.

He doesn’t know what he’s doing. Democrats are taking advantage of a very sick man who can’t think properly. It’s wrong.

How are Democrats "taking advantage"? To what end? Vast majority of Democrats think Biden is set to lose the election.

This is a great read, and, damn, does it ever capture my exact thoughts.

Ron Filipkowski's take. Pundits should shut up and Biden should stay.
https://meidasnews.com/news/for-the-good-of-the-country-its-time-for-some-pundits-to-retire

Thanks to both PPs for posting the articles. From Ron F's article, I took away that he believes the ONLY way Biden will step aside is if Biden himself and Jill want to. And the only way they will come to that conclusion is if their very small, very tight group of advisors encourages them to do so. And these advisors will definitely not encourage Biden to step aside - their livelihoods depend on Biden becoming president.

It is ridiculously sad that Joe and Jill Biden are unwilling to listen to the American people. I can't in good conscience vote for him.

So Ron thinks we should all shut up, but he can mansplain and voice his opinion. No. Hypocritical article.

Of course the media reports the polls, it's Biden's fault for not reading them. How else do you know that last summer a vast majority of Americans AND Democrats thought he was too odd to run again? That's how you listen to people.

Frankly, I think it's good that journalists are putting this on record. When Biden foolishly ushers in Trump, it will be recorded in history that his ego was more important than the people in this country.

She needs to agree to a graceful exit in order for Biden to step aside. He’s probably already had the conversation that he can’t step aside to let her run because she has a worse shot than he does. At least before the debate that was true, not sure where we are now but I suspect the same place.

This is an angle that I had not thought of. Perhaps Harris has made it clear that she wants the spot so Biden feels like he needs to stay in.

Biden isn't feeling/thinking about the nomination; he's mentally gone. The question is what his handlers think. They made that perfectly clear by setting him up with the debate.

A month ago that statement was a RWNJ talking point. Interesting that it’s now mainstream.

Less than a week ago!

This is no surprise to anyone who has been paying attention.
Fewest press conferences than any modern-day president. Fewer interviews.
Chosen reporters to ask questions on the rare occasions he has press conferences. Everything is prescreened. Few questions allowed.

Like it or not, I think that Democrats and much of the media have actually helped to strengthen Trump because he's seen as a warrior who gets everything thrown at him but keeps getting back up. Many people have admiration for him because they think he's been treated unfairly. They identify with him.

At this point, it would hardly surprise me to find out that a lot of it was from Republican donors, which would be straight out the Dems 2022 playbook. They spent $$ on far right candidates because they thought they would be easier to beat than centrist Republications. Of course Trump wants Biden to run.

I find that so abhorrent that I stopped donating to them and wrote them twice to tell them why, not that they cares about me.

I would've taken them seriously if they had done that with Trump first.

Many of us have felt this way even before Joe selfishly decided to run again….and his being 82 on Election Day!

Take your condescension and shove it.

The primary results beg to differ. You shove it.

Most Democrats thought and think he is too old but that doesn't entitle Marianne Williamson or Dean Phillips to the nomination. The problem is nobody serious wanted to run against Biden. This is his fault for not showing down.

I don't think people understand how the major parties work. No serious contender would challenge a sitting president. They would have zero support from the party. It would be a death knell. The reason nobody mentioned as replacements ran against him is because they'd all love a shot at the presidency.

Exactly. This is all on Joe. He had to announce his retirement to give any other sane democrat a chance.

Joe knew this, and he chose to be selfish.

So he is going to stay, because if nobody could talk to him and ask him to step down for the good of the party previously, he surely isn’t going anywhere now. A new candidate is not happening. And I don’t think the powers that control Joe wanted him to leave, either. Those powers will lose their power if Joe and Jilly trundled back to DE. The convention is going to be an absolute hoot. I don’t know how they will schedule his acceptance speech during his 6 hour window of sanity.

Is this supposed Biden-camp huddle thing really happening today?
