Our elite, capable, and honest people can easily make a lot more money in the private sector these days. Their choice to work in the private sector as opposed to being under the thumb of the wealthy and powerful RNC and DNC donors is completely understandable. This reason combined with a large percentage of American voters being lazy, careless, and foolish is how we end up with Trump vs Biden round two. This truth hurts. |
Hmm…raise presidential salary then maybe? |
+1 |
“People who followed the evidence”. Sounds like the q-anoners. What was this “evidence”? And why TF was that important at that time? |
You in 2020: “I’m going to perpetuate a theory that l (presently) have no evidence to support, that is contributing to fomented violence against Asian Americans.” Media and feeling persons: “let’s not dig into unsupported origin theories right now, because it’s unhelpful and literally hurting Asian Americans” You: “ how dare you silence me!” |
Honestly, who in the right mind would run for public office because it involves a large number of death threats in addition to the low pay. The prevailing public discourse runs down civil service and the government. |

I would have to go looking, but wasn't president mccrazypants on twitter in February 2020 praising China for their transparency?
The rest of us were like "WTF is he talking about? CHINA?" But much like all things he says, he and his nutsos tell us he didn't say that, never happened, rinse and repeat. Like he's currently doing with the lock her up nonsense. |
Yes he did. Let’s be real. We were effed the day the pandemic team left China. |
Yes, that is something to consider. 400k annually for the most important job in the world is a joke by today's standards. If we could also somehow reduce the influence of money in politics, we could eliminate some of the toxicity spewing from the RNC and DNC which would presumably create a more welcoming political environment for the people that should be leading our country. |
THANK YOU. Wow, this conversation is distressing. I’m in NYC (ask Jeff), posted up thread about losing a grandparent to COVID in the window before vaccine distribution and blame Trump’s administration squarely for the disaster across different dimensions. I’ve voted blue and worked for candidates my entire life. WHY can’t we discuss with some measure of integrity the point of the article and the inadvertent fallout of suppressing this specific conversation? |
thanks, scotus |
Sure babe. This is the time for that conversation. But posters here and elsewhere want a bunch of attaboys for an unsupported 50- 50 guess 4 years ago, for a conversation that wasn’t helpful or constructive in the moment, and was literally hurting people. It doesn’t make you scientifically open minded for guessing the lab was possibly responsible for the origins of the pandemic. It’s just making a somewhat educated worthless guess. |
Who is time traveling back 4 years? Not me. Not the poster I quoted. Take your “babe” and shove it up your capacious nasty ass. |
Try to at least make an argument. We have enough idiot republicans posting here, we don’t need democrats competing for the title. TIA. |
I made one, you worthless, smug ahole. There is permanent value in discussing the impact of secrecy and condemnation after the fact about the origins of the pandemic. |
