What you really love about ND is that it is 65% white and happy keeping it that way. Like we don’t know what “different backgrounds” means.

Isn’t the country as a whole 70% white? That seems like a reasonable diversity number for ND, especially since they are mostly attracting Catholics, a religion not that popular among African-Americans and many Asian groups.

59.3% and declining, actually.

So adjust your perspective.

No. It is more than that because Latino is white. Especially at ND in the future given the catholic connection.

You best Navy, not Ohio State. 😂

ND is going to e just fine lol, whether they beat Ohio State or not.

Good for you. Already came up with your rationalization when they lose.

ND has had good years and bad years in football. That's not going to change. But I sense, this might possibly be a good year. Like I said, if they lose to USC or Ohio, I'll be disappointed, but ND will still be in the hearts of millions and millions of fans...more than many other schools can boast. That's why they can remain independent. I know that irks you lol.

And there’s the other crutch you fall back on. Imagined envy.

Wander over to the college football thread. Yeah lots of envy over there. MD cannot be touched.

Legacy probably the most efficient way to build the singular, similar mindset of the next generation that ND seeks?

Efficiency doesn’t equal moral or ethical. Which is fine. It’s a choice.

What is moral or ethical about any admission decisions? Why is a kid from Kansas more valuable than a kid from New York if a schools seeks geographical diversity?

There is nothing immoral or unethical about legacy admissions, despite the desperate efforts to portray them as such.

There is for an institution that purports to follow Christ's teachings.

That’s fine. ND wants to be a great research university. So let ND forego all federal dollars for research. I don’t want my taxes going to encourage a school that seems to proudly admit legacy admissions. Even more particularly when you know they are very much slanted towards one religious group.

Nd really isn’t a research university

Yes They have some graduate programs but your median big 10 state school will out produce ND at research over a wider variety of fields

Why is that true? How many qualified white Catholic applicants do you think they get a year? I bet they get enough to fill the class a few times over.

You have that wrong. The last acceptable discrimination is against Asian Americans. Let me remind you that a Catholic sits on the highest court of law in this country, as you pro ND legacy keep reminding us.
