| Shouldn't the Duke versus Johns Hopkins debate be settled on the lacrosse field ? |
|
Foolishness
Hopkins SAIS -> one of the world's leading centers for the study of international affairs Hopkins APL -> pipeline from Whiting to the APL Hopkins Peabody -> Top 10 Music Conservatory Hopkins Med -> well at least you'd heard of that Heck, even the Writing Seminars program spat out P.J. O'Rourke, Wes Craven, David Lipsky |
I mostly agree but Bloomberg's $1B donation changed the game for Hopkins. Even if they're not quite at the level of Yale, Duke, Columbia, and Penn at the very least the donation put them with Dartmouth, Cornell, Brown, Chicago, and Northwestern. |
How could you live in this area and be totally ignorant of SAIS? |
| The Space Telescope Science Center is located on Hopkins undergraduate campus. https://www.stsci.edu/contact-us |
| If Hopkins were in a wealthy small town like Princeton then the denizens of DCUM would be fawning over Hopkins the same way. Let's just be frank here. |
Yeah, no one is doubting JHU's grad programs are stellar. The school simply hasn't invested enough in its undergrads, like UChicago until the 2010s. It's simple as that! That's why the school does so terribly in cross-admit battles against schools both above and below its caliber. |
You have no proof of that. Again, a Hopkins alum would know better to make such an argument without quality data to support it (and Parchment is far from quality data). Too bad you didn’t have a rigorous undergraduate education. |
Who knows, the dcum denizens love to trash the local schools (Georgetown, Hopkins, UVA, VT) all of which are stellar. Based on some of the posts from the days acceptances are released, some of it seems to be over lingering hostility of they or their offspring not being accepted. |
| Too dangerous. My kid didn’t want to be at any school where there are “no go” zones for running, walking, biking etc. |
And? |
That neighborhood is SO much nicer now than it was back then.. BTW.... why did they even apply? |
| Looks like the ones bashing Parchment the most are the over-ranked USNews schools compared to their Parchment data, ie Chicago, Hopkins, and Vanderbilt. |
|
Looks like the posters who use Parchment never learned that self reported data is always of limited utility and old data loses its value. |
