All that OP had to do was to check for countries requiring a visa to enter EU. Ukraine just needs a passport. India and many African countries need a passport and a visa. It’s right there - in black and white.

What if those black people who were pushed behind had the Schengen visa? We would never know would we? They may have had it.

This was an act of war. Trains should be for women, children and senior citizens.

I worked with a lady who was 7 years old and walked across European countries during WWII with her Grandma trying to avoid rapes from the Russian soldiers.

I don't have a lot of sympathy for men of any color who are whining until all of the women, children and seniors are able to leave Ukraine that want to leave Ukraine.

The Russian Army is notorious for brutally raping village women and girls.

Speaking as an African, I was done with Ukraine when I saw videos from people I know are real Africans in Ukraine trying to get out. To be able to make time for racism at a life and death circumstances speaks of such a monstrous nature that I no longer have any problem with what Putin is up to over there. I’m not sparing Ukraine a single thought beyond this post.

Speaking as a brown person, the first 2 days, seeing the reports from Ukraine made me teary eyed when I read the articles. Then after the discrimination videos started making the rounds, I am just disappointed that people look at skin color in a crisis. One of the videos above shows the black woman trying to get in but denied and a white woman on the left is let through on the train.

I am pretty sure in the early hours and days of the invasion, Polish border guards were following the standard operating procedure that was in place for years. As the new emergency order tricked down from the top, I am pretty sure there were many hiccups.
