Republicans/“conservatives” who do you support: our American President or Putin?

As for Biden, I'm not a "supporter" of his in any general sense, obviously. I do support the stance he's taking right now. I don't blame him for the Putin Invasion (as I think some other republicans have been too quick to do).

Presuming you’re a conservative, I believe you’re the first one to go ahead and say you support the American president. Bottom of page 12.[/quote

At least there’s one…sad

Good job pointing that out

In my view, this is very representative of most Republicans in this country - they are more fond of an individual who just invaded another country than they are of the majority of Americans who voted in the last election.

You can't support Trump, Dinesh D'Souza, Tucker Carlson and all the other clowns of your party and be true, patriotic, Americans. No matter how hard you try, you have lost your patriotism in the name of a fat, babbling, orange haired, criminal. Great choice!

Not a trump supporting republican should ever be allowed to claim they are patriotic Americans when they aren't 100% supporting our Allies aboard and making excuses for why Putin has invaded Ukraine.

Ya'll are worthless at this point and second tier citizens. Truth hurts.

Amen! Over the last decade Republicans have called each other “patriots” for a certain set of heinous beliefs and actions. Well, today it’s clear we don’t need patriots by that definition.

Those patriotic republicans should be lining up to go fight on the frontlines in Kyiv!

Actually, many of those patriotic Republicans are over in Europe - deployed to protect NATO nations.
So, you can stop with the circle-jerk of demeaning Republicans because you are so far into your liberal bubble that you have no idea who Republicans are or what they stand for.

Who are these people who surface to defend republicans w/ the claim that we don’t know the ‘real’ republicans? Like what? You selected and elected Trump as your most recent president. THat is who you are….literally he won a popularity contest based on republicans…that is who you guys wanted. And polling suggests he remains EXTREMELY popular. We know who you are, fool…at least try to come up w/ some creative excuse as to why you are traitorous pieces of sh!t other than…’YOU DONT EVEN KNOW US’

The only democrats I’ve ever voted for were Hillary and Biden. I’m such a liberal!

Funny - I don’t see Tucker Carlson, the trump kids, Ben Shapiro, Madison Cawthorne, MTG, or any other three toothed republican, lining up to volunteer. I just hear them blabbering about how weak Americans are and how strong and savvy Putin is.

Pull your head out of your ass and just admit you, and your peers, are worthless trash.

Did Biden serve? Nope.
How about Adam Schiff? Or, AOC? Or, Maxine Watters? Or, Eric Swalwell?
These are just some of the people who continually criticized and undermined Trump during his presidency.
And, if you want examples of liberals and Democrats talking about how weak America is.... just look at some of the threads over the previous 4 years before Biden was elected. The disdain for fellow Americans was disgusting.
You can just sit this one out.

And, just so you know - I am the daughter of a career Air Force veteran and the mother of an Army soldier whose wife also serves.

Trump tried to withhold $ to Ukraine to further his own partisan objectives. He also repeatedly promoted Putin and other dictators who advanced political goals that are antithetical to American values. Did you or your Trumper family every object to any of that?

Great that you're from a military family - how many of you were in DC on Jan 6 trying to overthrow the government?

I’m the “centrist Democrat who could have voted for a Jerry Ford.”

Trump turned out to be way, way stranger than I’d expected. I can deal with Republicans who voted for him because of domestic policy issues, and who simply thought those stories about the Russian ties were false. Plenty of Democrats got mad at me when I occasionally suggested that Putin might be trying to manipulate our government.

But, now that we can see Putin launching a cartoon villain level attack on Ukraine, and using the same kind of propaganda strategies against Ukraine, it seems as if it’s time for all loyal Americans to have Biden’s back. You can campaign against him, dislike him and vote for someone else, but if you’re really cheering for Putin over Biden, during a week that Putin has threatened to attack us with WMD, that’s just wrong.

I’m a Klobuchar fan. I never once thought of Biden as being a good nominee. But he’s seems to be a patriotic, well-meaning guy who’s doing his best. I will support him against Putin with all of my ability to support him.

I really disliked George W. Bush, and I opposed the war in Iraq, but I never once imagined any American supporting Osama bin Laden or Saddam Hussein over Bush.

Americans who favor Putin over Biden at a time like this are like Americans who favored Hitler over Biden. Truman had all sorts of faults, but he had an awesome responsibility, and Americans living in 1945 should have been clever enough to see that Truman, with all of his faults, deserved more support from Americans than Hitler, whatever charms Hitler might have. This year is like 1945. Stand with Truman’s heir, or know that you stand with Hitler’s heir.

What you are not getting - again - is that Republicans who express outrage are NOT favoring Putin over Biden. Republicans would like to have a stronger leader. Biden has managed this horribly. He imposed sanctions much too late - even many Democrats believe this. And, then, he said that the sanctions were not intended to prevent anything. WHAT? After weeks of calling them a deterrence?

The world is better off when the US is leading. History has proven that. That just hasn't happened with this crisis. Biden has been a day late and a dollar short every step of the way. And, his responses to questions have not been exactly confidence building.

It is not a choice of Putin or Biden. It is a choice of Putin or Ukraine. And, I have not seen any evidence that any Republican wants Ukraine to fail.

WHAT THE EVER LOVING F? Trump literally said it was genius to invade Ukraine you deranged idiot.

Yup. All of these Republican so-called "Patriots" were fine with Trump trying to deny aid to Ukraine, cuddling up to Putin, attempting to remain in office after he lost, cheering on his supporters as they attempted an insurrection, and so on. Just look at the polling. Yes, there are former employees of Paul Ryan who show up on cable news - but they're obviously not representative of any of right wing America at this point.

Whine if it makes you feel better.
But, also know that the world was a much calmer, safer, peaceful place when Trump was president.

I really don't want to hear another ridiculous notion of how Trump, the right, Republicans love Vladimir Putin. That is pure BS to deflect from the fact that it is the left's energy policies that are funding Putin's regime, even with sanctions. They have been ignoring the one thing that would choke him... oil exports.
And, Biden's oil policies in the US has caused the US to become more reliant on Russian oil.

I disagree with this post. Having said that, the poster may have blindly stumbled into the truth. Nothing he says about Biden is correct. However, if one changes the name from Biden to Merkel, one would be correct. Angela Markel surrendered Germany’s energy independence and made her country reliant on Russian gas.

Our imports of Russian oil shot up as soon as Biden was elected. Add to that the Biden administration has crushed energy production in the US, he is adding to the problem.

The United States would never prop up a dictator. This must be more of the fake news.

Honestly, I do believe that Trump has exposed the crazy underbelly of leftism and that’s a good thing.

The idea of those unvaccinated goatees fighting for Mother Russia is really a picture.

But yeah. Republicans aren’t patriotic. They’re traitorous. You cannot support the GOP and claim to love the US.

The GOP cult gave up any semblance of patriotism the minute they started rallying against the Covid vaccine. If they were good citizens, they would have done everything to get out of the pandemic to get the country back on track sooner. But that would have required using some logic, something the cult members seem to be lacking.

And we don’t like white supremacy but for some reason like the Azov Battalion, which is a Neo Nazi division of the Ukrainian National Guard? Got it.

And we also don’t like white supremacy but will watch wall to wall coverage of Ukrainian civilians getting bombed but won’t bat an eye when Yemen is bombed to pieces by the Saudis, Afghani kids starve to death because of our sanctions, and Muslims are thrown in camps by the Chinese government. Got it.

This all makes a lot of sense to me. Just wanted to make sure I understood correctly.

Chaser:

Hi Comrade! Take a break from trolling and stock up your pantry, hungry times are coming for Russia.

McCarthyism is so 70 years ago sweetheart.

The same people who had BLM posters in their yard are calling people traitors for not actively rooting for Neo Nazi militias now. SMH.

your priorities and ability to see scale in issues is skewed. One country is invading another. Killing countless lives. If a few of the citizens of that country are not great, that doesn't make the invasion any better. It makes the country a country with humans living in it. The invasion of a country will cause much wider destruction than the individual beliefs of a few soldiers. If you can't see the difference in scale that is appalling. I hope you are just using bad logic in an internet argument and are able to comprehend the magnitude of difference.

It is not a few soldiers! Stop with your misinformation. The Azov Battalion is, like it sounds, an entire battalion of Neo Nazis who are a division of the Ukrainian National Militia. They march to a flag that is basically a modernized swastika on Ukrainian colors. They are so bad that Facebook banned people from praising them and put them in the same category as the KKK and ISIS up until Russia invaded. Now, for some reason, Facebook has no problem with people praising a Neo Nazi paramilitary group that wants to ethnically cleansed non Aryans from Ukraine.

https://theintercept.com/2022/02/18/ukraine-weapons-neo-nazis-bob-menendez/

https://www.buzzfeednews.com/amphtml/christopherm51/neo-nazi-group-facebook

The point is that all these Democrats calling people white supremacists for voting for Trump or having retrograde opinions on race are actively cheerleading for a Neo Nazi militia that wants to ethnically cleanse non Aryans from the Ukraine. These aren’t rednecks who say racist jokes sometimes and happen to be in the military. These are actual Neo Nazis who march under a Neo Nazi flag and are armed and state that their whole purpose is ethnic and racial genocide. This isn’t about a few bad apples in the Ukrainian military, some off color jokes by Ukranian soldiers, or microagressions. These is an actual Neo Nazi division of the military. Shame on you.

So I never want to hear people on the left talk about white supremacy or racism if you’re calling people traitors for pointing this out and aren’t actually horrified that we are funding these people.
