Republicans/“conservatives” who do you support: our American President or Putin?

And we don’t like white supremacy but for some reason like the Azov Battalion, which is a Neo Nazi division of the Ukrainian National Guard? Got it.

And we also don’t like white supremacy but will watch wall to wall coverage of Ukrainian civilians getting bombed but won’t bat an eye when Yemen is bombed to pieces by the Saudis, Afghani kids starve to death because of our sanctions, and Muslims are thrown in camps by the Chinese government. Got it.

This all makes a lot of sense to me. Just wanted to make sure I understood correctly.

Chaser:

Hi Comrade! Take a break from trolling and stock up your pantry, hungry times are coming for Russia.

McCarthyism is so 70 years ago sweetheart.

The same people who had BLM posters in their yard are calling people traitors for not actively rooting for Neo Nazi militias now. SMH.

your priorities and ability to see scale in issues is skewed. One country is invading another. Killing countless lives. If a few of the citizens of that country are not great, that doesn't make the invasion any better. It makes the country a country with humans living in it. The invasion of a country will cause much wider destruction than the individual beliefs of a few soldiers. If you can't see the difference in scale that is appalling. I hope you are just using bad logic in an internet argument and are able to comprehend the magnitude of difference.

You can't support Trump, Dinesh D'Souza, Tucker Carlson and all the other clowns of your party and be true, patriotic, Americans. No matter how hard you try, you have lost your patriotism in the name of a fat, babbling, orange haired, criminal. Great choice!

Not a trump supporting republican should ever be allowed to claim they are patriotic Americans when they aren't 100% supporting our Allies aboard and making excuses for why Putin has invaded Ukraine.

Ya'll are worthless at this point and second tier citizens. Truth hurts.

Amen! Over the last decade Republicans have called each other “patriots” for a certain set of heinous beliefs and actions. Well, today it’s clear we don’t need patriots by that definition.

Those patriotic republicans should be lining up to go fight on the frontlines in Kyiv!

You do realize that there are military members who are democrats, don’t you?

Actually, many of those patriotic Republicans are over in Europe - deployed to protect NATO nations.
So, you can stop with the circle-jerk of demeaning Republicans because you are so far into your liberal bubble that you have no idea who Republicans are or what they stand for.

I’m the “centrist Democrat who could have voted for a Jerry Ford.”

Trump turned out to be way, way stranger than I’d expected. I can deal with Republicans who voted for him because of domestic policy issues, and who simply thought those stories about the Russian ties were false. Plenty of Democrats got mad at me when I occasionally suggested that Putin might be trying to manipulate our government.

But, now that we can see Putin launching a cartoon villain level attack on Ukraine, and using the same kind of propaganda strategies against Ukraine, it seems as if it’s time for all loyal Americans to have Biden’s back. You can campaign against him, dislike him and vote for someone else, but if you’re really cheering for Putin over Biden, during a week that Putin has threatened to attack us with WMD, that’s just wrong.

I’m a Klobuchar fan. I never once thought of Biden as being a good nominee. But he’s seems to be a patriotic, well-meaning guy who’s doing his best. I will support him against Putin with all of my ability to support him.

I really disliked George W. Bush, and I opposed the war in Iraq, but I never once imagined any American supporting Osama bin Laden or Saddam Hussein over Bush.

Americans who favor Putin over Biden at a time like this are like Americans who favored Hitler over Biden. Truman had all sorts of faults, but he had an awesome responsibility, and Americans living in 1945 should have been clever enough to see that Truman, with all of his faults, deserved more support from Americans than Hitler, whatever charms Hitler might have. This year is like 1945. Stand with Truman’s heir, or know that you stand with Hitler’s heir.

What you are not getting - again - is that Republicans who express outrage are NOT favoring Putin over Biden. Republicans would like to have a stronger leader. Biden has managed this horribly. He imposed sanctions much too late - even many Democrats believe this. And, then, he said that the sanctions were not intended to prevent anything. WHAT? After weeks of calling them a deterrence?

The world is better off when the US is leading. History has proven that. That just hasn't happened with this crisis. Biden has been a day late and a dollar short every step of the way. And, his responses to questions have not been exactly confidence building.

It is not a choice of Putin or Biden. It is a choice of Putin or Ukraine. And, I have not seen any evidence that any Republican wants Ukraine to fail.

FALSE.

Just because you can’t be bothered to read or watch the horribly traitorous things Republicans say doesn’t mean that the rest of us are choosing to remain ignorant. You’re flat out wrong. Biden actually showed Putin’s *ss, getting him to admit exactly what he was up to.

(Since Republicans are constitutionally incapable of clicking through, a “1/“ indicates that’s it’s part of a “thread,” or one in a series of tweets that make sense when read sequentially.)

Excellent point!

Biden should be praised for his work and the work
Of our intelligence agencies. He could/will have saved many many lives.

Please explain how Biden has failed. He has joined the entire

If trump was in office this situation would be 100x worse. He would have reacted irrationally and in a manner that risked American lives.

Putin wouldn’t have had to invade. Trump would have helped him get everything he wanted.

+1. Loving all of this “get behind our leader or GTFO!” Where was all of this blind support for our great leader when Trump was President? Love him or hate him (and I have no love for Trump whatsoever) but the hypocrisy is stunning.

You can make that claim all you want, but in the end - it is just your opinion.
I happen to believe this never would have happened under Trump. Putin would have waited until we elected someone more like Biden who would install some of the same people in place that Obama had. Putin was able to annex Crimea with virtually no consequence.

Biden has not joined the entire western world. Putin's actions have done that. Along with the resolve and courage of the people of Ukraine.

Biden's sanctions were not a "deterrent." Multiple members of Congress - on both sides of the aisle - begged him to implement them earlier.
The SWIFT bank sanction should have happened weeks ago. A strong leader could have convinced those in Europe that it was necessary.
And, we need to stop buying Russian oil. Biden should get serious about ramping up production here. Our oil is produced much cleaner than Russian oil is and it will help keep prices down.
But, I doubt he will do this.

I don't support Putin, that's for sure. And I shake my head at "conservatives" who support Putin just because they're anti-Biden or, even worse, because they believe that Putin somehow represents anything positive.

As for Biden, I'm not a "supporter" of his in any general sense, obviously. I do support the stance he's taking right now. I don't blame him for the Putin Invasion (as I think some other republicans have been too quick to do).

Presuming you’re a conservative, I believe you’re the first one to go ahead and say you support the American president. Bottom of page 12.
