I'm so sorry, OP. To me it sounds like he is running from something and/or involved in a sketchy activity, or (possibly) suicide. I hope you heal from this.

I think this also shows that you were right not to just immediately give up and "go get a pedicure" as one PP said. Even if you know you are being lied to, I think it was still the right thing to follow up and not just assume he fell off the face of the earth because he wanted to dump you. After this period of time of him being MIA, not reporting would have been negligent.

OP Here: yup. Obviously him and I are done but I did ask the trooper to have somone call me with any info they get as I do at least want to make sure he is ok.

OP, I'm sorry, but there are so many signs that this guy is involved with drugs, and with the shady people who go along with that lifestyle. For your own safety, I would plan to cut ties with him (but report to police) as soon as he resurfaces.

Wait. The trooper told you that they "have an alert out for him in NY and the area in PA where he said he was going", but you told the PA poster that he'd given his grandparents the name of a PA town that doesn't exist? If it doesn't exist, how can the trooper claim to have an alert for "the area in PA where he said he was going"? Does it exist, or doesn't it?
