OP, I'm sorry that you're dealing with this, but I do hope that this is a good learning experience for you wrt relationships.
Despite the reaction of many posting here, I would bet that the majority of us have made some pretty dumb dating decisions or trusted someone we shouldn't have trusted - especially in our 20s. The good news is that you can kick this idiot to the curb and hopefully insist on men treating you better and with more respect. Also, let's adjust your "picker" a bit, huh? No more dating redneck guys, ok? You can do better than that....yuck! That beard makes me want to barf! Let's some standards for yourself and stop settling for less. If you are smart enough to have your own business, you should be dating a local, real guy with an education and a real job. |
Right-I think it's more a we are all just dying to know if he's just sitting on his butt on his couch, or what. No one is actually going to call the police-what are you gonna say? "Hey, I've been obsessively reading this forum where a girl says her bf is missing but maybe he's just f'ing her over-can you speed up your well-being check?" |
Oh boy, I feel bad for bobcat man and Uncle J. How can a guy that was never even an official boyfriend become an "ex"?
Op - you are a trip to say the least. This is probably one of the weirdest threads that I have ever read....you guys are all being quite nutty. |
Does it bug anyone else that it would be ok to be dating someone for a few months and really not know where they work?? |
OP, what did you like about this guy so much in the first place? He's not particularly cute, he lives nowhere near you, he disappeared for periods of time without contact, and you don't seem to know all that much about him. |
I hope uncle j's ice fishing business gets a huge bump from this! He seems awesome. |
What are you talking about? He was her boyfriend, he was just a liar. |
It kind of worries me that this is the way of the youngsters (putting everything online, etc.). |
I have not read all 116 pages of this thread and I don’t intend to.
My first thought is that OP is a stalker and poor bobcat man is trying to get away from her. |
OP Here: Just got a call back from a trooper. I need this thread locked after this because I am NOT doing okay with this news. Apparently, one of SVs friends reported him missing last night so they've had an alert out for him. Then they got a call from me too and just sent someone over and spoke to the grandparents. Apparently, he told the grandparents he was going to Pennsylvania for a job, left with his dog and a bag and hasn't been back or in contact with anyone since. They have an alert out for him in NY and the area in PA where he said he was going. Trooper is going to call me once they know anything. |
starting a new life. Not his first time, either |
Hugs to you, OP. I'm glad that your instincts were correct. (Well, not glad that something could be really wrong, but glad that he's not just sitting at home if that makes sense.) Even if he is a jerk. |
Sorry, OP. Sounds like you did the right thing by finally calling the police, though.
|
Oh wow. Sorry OP. |
OP, where in PA was he going? (I'm the one who posted yesterday about my childhood in Western PA, and the meth-head poachers who lived there). |
