Any guesses where Pete and Chasten Buttigieg will live in the DMV?

Garret Park then.

Chevy Chase, then:

That is a brilliant post. Buttigieg can easily bypass the state level and go straight to the House and Senate. Chasten can teach in FCPS or they'll find a Gatehouse job for him. School board? Hopefully Buttigieg [ a hard worker]will live in the Congressional District now represented by Wexton-D. prior was Comstock-R. Last one that worked for the paycheck was Wolfe-R.

Then we have the load of oddness of Northam and Fairfax. Karl Fritsch moved from DC to VA. Husband's a teacher at a school not in his district. A school and area that has been dumped on by FCPS and the school board for over a decade- Chantilly HS.

South Bend is small compared to FX. I can't figure out where either of the 2 have ever lived where they were subway, regional trains like metro, bus, or amtrak dependent. Delta shuttle from DCA to NY? The Beltway?

Does a govt car/driver transport a cabinet secretary to and from work?

You all realize that Pete doesn’t have that much money, right? He still has student loans. He may have a little equity in his SB house but compared to real estate here, no. He’ll make $200K as a Secretary per the latest salary tables and gets a driver. But still he’s not buying a house here on that. Unknown if Chasten will find a teaching job here, but that won’t bring in that much more. Renting a nice place maybe. A house in Garret Park or CCMD? Yea, no.

I smell a large infusion of cash from a book deal.

If Chasten gets a job at at a school he could reasonably make close to 75k so their HHI would be close to 300 at that point, renting in more expensive areas may not be an issue

At some point, maybe, but he'll be too busy in the near future. Forbes estimates his net worth around 100K (assets minus debts). Chasten's book deal advance was 45k, not a huge amount. I'm sure they'll rent and decide whether they they want to stay beyond a single term, but will have major sticker shock.

Privacy, yard space, historic home...perfect

Hell no. Someone said they want to have kids. That’s way too small.

And ugly, close to neighbors

Above all else, he should have a story about his home's transportation advantages.

He won’t get confirmed.

I assume they are going to end up in a rental in DC but this house keeps popping up on my Nextdoor feed and I think the neighborhood (Bannockburn) in Bethesda would check many of their boxes. https://www.compass.com/listing/6309-bannockburn-drive-bethesda-md-20817/642232404494676777/

In other news Nextdoor needs to update its algorithms since as much as I like the look of this house it’s not in my future!

I think they’ll live in Georgetown

Pete had a book that came out last year and another one came out this year.
