Any guesses where Pete and Chasten Buttigieg will live in the DMV?

I could see some of the other District neighborhoods in this list, but they definitely strike me as Hill people.

"Former military families" do not specifically seek out other "former military families" to live near.

Dupont/Logan and I already know the perfect house for them: https://www.redfin.com/DC/Washington/1519-P-St-NW-20005/home/9868435

Privacy, yard space, historic home...perfect

He is not going to scooter or walk (unless it is across the street) to work for security reasons. All the cabinet positions get a govt driver. We have a family friend who was an Obama cabinet member and he lived in N Arlington, had a driver for his tenure in DC.

Does anyone know if he would get a housing stipend?

They do not and cannot accept a free or discounted living arrangement.

Hell no. Someone said they want to have kids. That’s way too small.

I dunno, I like living amongst military folks. There’s a common ground to it. And everyone keeps their lawn up nicely.

I’d bet $1000 they’ll end up on the Hill, SE side. DOT is right across the street from the Navy Yard metro.

Neither of them strike me as crunchy.

yeah. gay and crunchy aren't necessarily synonymous lol. Pete was a McKinsey consultant, intelligence officer, officer in the Navy...

Yeah, I agree that they're not crunchy. And they are from the mid West. I think Navy Yard, Rosslyn/Clarendon or Tysons.
I just read about the dogs. That changes my votes to Vienna or even Springfield. If they want to have dogs and kids then they'll want a house with space. It would also make working for FCPS an easy choice as the following spouse.

Yeah, the new Secretary of Transportation is going to sit in the soul-killing traffic from Springfield. Gimme a break.

I love living in Springfield. But there is no way a Cabinet member is living here.

Pete doesn't strike me as someone whose military background is important enough to his identity that he'd seek out other military families to live among.

Definitely not Springfield but didn’t Colin Powell live in Vienna while he was serving?

Ok, he’s going to make how much money? Chasten isn’t going to be rolling in dough as a teacher. I just don’t think they are going to be throwing around money. So, an apartment/condo is likely their best bet.

Awww. Why is it so sweet to think about Biden's cabinet members here, while it was so nauseating to think about the Trumpers? I love that and wish he could have more money for living because I know he wouldn't spend stupid stuff on a new desk or redecorating his office...
