Any guesses where Pete and Chasten Buttigieg will live in the DMV?

Given this... maybe Foxhall or Palisades.

Sh-t, that's gorgeous. Makes me want to temporarily trade him my 5-bedroom in Bethesda with a fenced yard, and I'll take the house in South Bend. If he and Chasten would take my husband too, I'd definitely do it. I bet it's nicely decorated even.

What areas around here would have similar historic homes, with scenic views as this one has? I can’t really think of anything equivalent, either in terms of architectural style or views..

There are a few similar houses in mt pleasant, although most have been chopped to condos & no views. A few in Cleveland park but high 4s.

The house is ugly and way too close to the neighbors in a place like South Bend. I hope they do way better here.

WTH is that supposed to mean?

Didn't you hear? Visible evidence that other people exist in the world is very passé. Complete and total loneliness is much more 2020.

Pete and Chasten are going to read all of these posts by Nosey Nellies and rethink their move to D.C.

I'm more interested in finding out where Chasten will work!

I think if he’s smar,t, if he’s going to teach he should use his birth name (bachelor name?) just to dim down some of the hype. People would figure it out eventually but it would give him a chance to not have everyone freak out before the first day of school.

If you’ve been doing it for awhile and you have your masters (which most teachers do), yes, you can make a good salary in DCPS. My wife has been an elementary teacher in DC since she graduated from college in 2003 and makes six figures.

Chasten is not going to be working for DCPS. He's a Montessori-based middle school teacher. He will probably be looking for a private Montessori school to teach at, not public school.

I haven't read every page of this interesting thread, but has anyone suggested Brookland? Close-in, near Metro, family-friendly. I could totally see them there, although I also agree with Capitol Hill.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks this thread is creepy.

Totally. They are just another couple coming to DC for work. The groupies here are sickening, intrusive and weird.

VA or MD. So that Pete can run for something after this little pit stop is done. He will never get a statewide position in Indiana as a gay man. Aren’t there rumors that Hogan will run for president in 2024?

In terms of safety and protocol, can Pete go out for a run on the mall or elsewhere?

This is my ninth year teaching in New York City and my base salary is about $88,000. I think it starts in the mid 50s now and then you work your way up

I don’t know. But if I was in their shoes, I’d pick the Wharf or Navy Yard, an apartment with a view. Second choice would be Union Market with all the high end apartments being built and foodie places.

Just about anything involving the guy is creepy. The energy you see in this thread is the stuff that makes him a high-profile politico and not just another insufferable McKinsey-ite.
