It's not that hard.

He never asked her to not recline her seat
Therefore he was in the wrong
You cannot always expect people to know what you are thinking, feeling. Language and polite language has been invented for a reason

We don't know what happened before she started filming.

Doesn't matter. Still not okay to commit an assault.

What assault? He’s tapping on her chair in beat to music, passive-aggressively. Does he touch her? No.

Please just look at his aggressive hyped up entitled face

That is not assault. He looks annoyed, not like he is going to strangle her. I seriously thought this video was going to be way worse than it is. There are some really irresponsible posters here. I'm betting that the woman was an entitled a$$ about the whole thing. Thus the bogus medical bills and video release wanting to cash in on this.

Who videotaped it? It wasn't her. An accomplice?

Delta is now retrofitting all of their A320’s to recline 1/2 as much as before.

Assault, by definition, does not include bodily contact. You’re thinking of battery. Battery doesn’t require physical touch of the person, just harm to the person. Like, if you set a trap with the intent to harm somebody and it actually harms somebody, that’s battery. If pinching her chair had, say, hurt her neck, it would be battery. It can even be battery if it causes significant emotional distress. I’m not saying this was a battery, but it definitely could have been.

Are we supposed to believe this unhinged guy has never reclined his own seat before when he could?

The chairs recline so little, like half an inch anyway

Unless she reclined at takeoff (where you either recline too and break the rules, or suffer for following them) he is in the wrong. You don’t get to be visibly annoyed unless something outrageous happens.
Once a guy in front and across kept replaying a scene from the Freddie Mercury movie over and over, all night, at the highest brightness. He would doze off sometimes but still would not turn off his screen. What can you do?

The seats barely recline. We were flying to Europe and a guy behind us started to yell at us for reclining the seats. Then he said "what is somebody did that to you"! Wth, the people in front of us also reclined. He asked people behind him to switch seats. The woman behind him ended up behind us using 3 seats but couldn't recline, and her son moved to another isle.
So much drama with the seats.
He doesn't care for the recline and thinks others shouldn't either. He and his wife were pretty big...

Exactly. Someone this entitled definitely reclines. He was just pissy he got a crappy non-reclining seat.

I'm pretty sure that she videotaped the whole thing with her phone. Note how she was oh so careful not to get her own face on tape. She was looking for a reason to get money from the airline and chose to antagonize this guy on purpose.

He got aggravated and at some point the flight attendant came over talked to the two of them and offered HIM a free drink. The lady remained reclined in her seat and when he started to drum on her seat that's when she started to video tape him. He kept drumming on her seat for a good part of the rest of the flight it looked like.

They both behaved like jackazzes.

She claimed he punched the back of her seat several times with a lot of force. Once she started recording he switched to the drumming which is what the video shows.

I do lot understand why planes do not have security cameras on them. Seems it would stop so much of the he said she said.

His reaction was over the top but her unwillingness to rectify the situation by moving her seat up was also over the top. There is no "victim" here. They both behaved liked jerks and deserve absolutely nothing from the airline. I hope they get nothing.

Lol. Where exactly is an American citizen supposed to get deported to?

Are we supposed to get booted back to our ancestral homeland? If so, which ancestral homeland - paternal or maternal side?
