“They walk over to the wall of windows where Anello appears to look over the railing, through the open window. Anello picks Chloe up and stands her up on the railing, and they appear to lean over together looking out over the port.

Then he re-adjusts and sits Chloe on the railing, still facing the port. They lean over again and she disappears from the frame.”

Grandpa is lying.

Why do people lie when they know there's video of their actions? This and the reporter assaulter... it's mind boggling. YOU. ARE. ON. VIDEOTAPE. Why do you lie??!

I’m sure it’s hard for his brain to accept that he’s responsible for the death of a small child. And not in an “oops I backed out of the driveway and didn’t see her” way, but he DECIDED to pick her up and lean her out a window. It’s so astoundingly stupid and he’s clearly not in touch with reality in parading around telling his story. I don’t know how the lawyer, having viewed this video, could encourage the continual telling of the glass wall story.

I do still feel bad for the parents even though others say they’re greedy. I don’t think that’s it. I’m sure they’d give anything in the world to have their daughter back. But accepting the fact someone you trusted brought about an incredibly awful death for your child has to be excruciatingly difficult to process. I wish they’d take a step back from the media spotlight. I don’t think it’s helping them. But my stomach churns at the thought of learning one of my parents killed my child.

The parents are willing to DESTROY someone else (in this case, Royal Caribbean) who did NOTHING wrong. That is pure evil. They deserve every "excruciating" moment they face.

JFC the cruise line is nowhere near being destroyed. It sounds like they want accountability— screens, warnings, etc. I’m not necessarily saying those things are reasonably needed. But I think the parents are grasping at straws “to do something.” They’re not trying to sue them out of existence.

Why are you so defensive of a giant corporation? And yet completely heartless and unable to have any sympathy for these parents who lost a child?

The corporation employs people who could lose their job if the company loses too much money. INNOCENT people who did nothing wrong. These EVIL "parents" don't care about that. They deserve every horrific image that comes in their mind when they remember what happened that day.

He does. From the side video, he clearly puts his own body far out the window frame. Maybe he is color blind. Maybe he couldn't tell the window was open at first. But putting his body way, way forward should be a dead giveaway that... you know.... there's no glass there. And there's breeze. And probably outside noise. He wasn't just standing upright at the railing - he was beyond the window.

That talk show video of the ship/drop is different than what I saw on the Daily Mail site.

It shows that Anello had the child up there for quite awhile.

He screwed up. That's all there is to this. He royally screwed up and lost control of the child b/c he was holding her up high and away from his center of gravity -- and she was probably a bit squirmy. He really F*&^%^'d up.

Do you guys think all of this would have come about if the family didn't immediately jump to a lawsuit?

But yeah the video is pretty damning. He is very obviously leaning out the open window, and saying "I thought it was closed" is complete horsesh!at.

The son is old enough to scream for help and probably too big to throw out a window.

True, but if the parents don't allow their son spend one-on-one time with grandpa anymore, you know they understand he was negligent.

Yeah, the talk show video is quite distant, but you can still see that he leans her OUT the WINDOW.

There is just no way he didn't know it was open. No. Way.

What kind of idiot lawyer took on this case? Did they not see the video?

Yes. It's even more damning than I thought it would be.

I just can’t get past the lie that he didn’t know the window was open when he leans his entire top half of the body out of the window to get a view.

He might be trying to get his family a settlement before he goes to jail.

I was honestly surprised to see how many people were nearby when this happened. Nobody noticed him holding her out the window??

People are afraid to say anything that can be construed as "criticizing someone's parenting (or in this case, grandparenting.)"

People are on vacation and paying attention to their own kids. I’ve been on cruises and I certainly never pay attention to what other families are doing at windows.
