Just FYI, the 750 a day is being made at pretty swanky long term stay centers with recreation fields and other amenities. This thread refers to the border processing centers that are run by our border patrol and currenttly overwhelmed. It's incredibly unhelpful to conflatenthe two. |
Is running. Present tense. Read a grammar book |

No one is comparing the two. The ones that are federally supported can't compare to the "boutique," for profit centers. But the Boutique Centers are much more efficient and apparently, if you can overlook the "no hugs rule," more humane. Someone is paying for the Boutique Centers. Can you guess who? And someone is paying for the federally-supported centers. We know who that is. So which is it? Are you all willing to pay more for the boutiques to ensure the kids are not "harmed?" It's going to boil down to money, folks. |

Resources wouldn’t be so damn finite if you idiots hadn’t decided to starve the gov’t and give it all to the rich people
I find it laughable that you try to pretend you care about our current low income people. You have a damn funny way of showing it. |
| Anne Frank didn’t die in an oven. She died of typhus, brought about by insufficient nutrition and hygiene. In her last days, she wore a blanket because ther her clothes were crawling with lice. If you don’t see the parallels between how the Us is treating children and elements of the holocaust, well, you’re not looking hard enough. |
Typhus can be caused by lice. This is important. So, on Wednesday, we received reports from children of a lice outbreak in one of the cells where there were about twenty-five children, and what they told us is that six of the children were found to have lice. And so they were given a lice shampoo, and the other children were given two combs and told to share those two combs, two lice combs, and brush their hair with the same combs, which is something you never do with a lice outbreak. And then what happened was one of the combs was lost, and Border Patrol agents got so mad that they took away the children’s blankets and mats. They weren’t allowed to sleep on the beds, and they had to sleep on the floor on Wednesday night as punishment for losing the comb. So you had a whole cell full of kids who had beds and mats at one point, not for everybody but for most of them, who were forced to sleep on the cement. https://www.newyorker.com/news/q-and-a/inside-a-texas-building-where-the-government-is-holding-immigrant-children But yeah...this is totally different. |
Those are from 2015 under Obama, the pictures are an Obama legacy. Also, the toothbrush thing is from Obama too https://www.aila.org/File/Related/14111359v.pdf |
Give me a break. There was a lice outbreak at a Arlington county school. If having lice means people are in concentration camps then the Arlington school is a concentration camp. While some of the students might agree it's one - a reasonable adult doesn't. Same thing here. The people calling them concentration camps are idiots. |
The pictures in this tweet were from.....wait for it...........2015 Nancy Lee Grahn is either tweeting something about which she is clueless, or she intentionally cropped the date from the pictures. And, here is the article from which the pictures were taken. Written in 2016. https://tucson.com/news/local/border/plaintiffs-images-show-inhumane-conditions-in-border-patrol-cells/article_b66634a9-0a27-5be9-9fe9-425cb61ed0cd.html

Why are Congressional Democrats allowing this to continue? |
Wow! I didn’t realize the kids in Arlington were denied appropriate treatment and then punished with the removal of beds for losing their lice combs! For all the money people in Arlington pay for those houses and school system you think they’d demand better! |

I say this with all sincerity - f off you soulless person. I seriously hope you don't consider yourself a Christian or religious Jew. I'm sure you'd love it if your 8 year old were sleeping on concrete, infested with lice with no way to get rid of them, no shower, no soap, lights on all night. I mean seriously, go f yourself and your f-ing word play. |
While some Trump policies like family separation are absolutely new and worse, the worst aspect of Trump is the dehumanizing rhetoric used as a wedge political issue. That's the terrifying innovation. However, I agree with the main point that Democrats are hypocrits, and most American people are dumb about this stuff. Americans (left and right) generally know very little about immigration & foreign policy, and the approaches differ less than you would think between parties. |
