DOJ argues that migrant children should not receive toothbrushes or soap

I know how hard you are trying to make them seem not human but many of us value human beings. Your pedantic labeling is fruitless.

It's like the people trying so hard to avoid acknowledging that they support concentration camps. They want to believe that the enablers of the fascists in the 1930s were uniquely evil when those people were merely selfish, fearful, and stupid like Trump supporters.

So the deal is in an overnight processing or travel situation there may not be a place to brush teeth or wash or lay down and thus no toothbrushes or soap or blankets.

Of course the MSM is conveniently and purposely leaving that out.

When I see crazy threads like this on DCUM that no doubt provoke liberal outrage, I usually don't open them because I know the "legacy media" is spinning a story to intentionally make the Trump administration look bad.
Or, the OP of the thread is spinning the story.

Looks like that is what happened. Again.

I'm always amazed at how many fall for it too.

Last I heard airlines were cutting back in just about everything. Is there a free money tree growing somewhere in government that supplies necessities such as doctors, er visits, judges, housing, day care providers, guards, blankets, beds, heating, cooling, sportsequipment, esop, guards, workers and directors, psychologists, social workers,, healthy food, sports equipment, entertainment, bus tickets, plane tickets, and paying outrageous amounts to private companies to administer all this etc. To an uncapped number of uninvited border visitors? These are all things I've heard people lament not having enough of.
At this point I support the army setting up rudimentary encampments, the UN setting up more robust camps, or Trumps frankly brilliant push to have people apply from their home countries or Mexico. There is no free moneytree. The money comes from taxes on our citizenry, and we have citizens in dire need across our land. The most efficient, economic, disencentiving yet still humane and lawful solution is the only acceptable solution at this point.

Cancel the tax cuts.

+1 Cancel the Trump kids' tourism trip to Great Britain on the taxpayer dime. Their plane tix, hotels and security costs would pay for a lot of soap.

It's a cute idea, but not how government budget allocations work. Someone could also say, "cancel these kids X, Y or Z" to pay for nutrition for children in DC (a study just said we have one of the highest malnourishment rates in America).
There is a lot if name calling, and should and could. Not a lot of how. There is not enough money allocated to pay for the level of care you seek for this group of people. Please offer a realistic solution to that. Realistic.

That was the system under Obama. Trump canceled it. Frankly not brilliant of Trump.

WE would be the money tree that pays for the necessary supplies and services in these centers. And once they're in (processing takes longer with more and more people entering), they receive court dates. After that, they need a place to live. They need more medical care. They need to enroll in schools. They need jobs. So there are more services we're providing.

Again, at what point do we say enough is enough?

At the point where we don't pay 100$ million in security costs for Melania to stay in NYC for 6 months because Barron doesn't want to switch schools. Why is the President's kids' education worth $100 million in tax dollars why we can't even front a migrant child a bar of soap. We are ALL God's children.

+1 Amen. So ridiculous for Republicans to argue that there isn't money for soap, as they just passed the biggest tax giveaway to the ultrarich in history.

Proving once again your ignorance. Which you could avoid by reading more.

Well, there are restrictions.

The Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) is running out of money.

Senate agreed to $1.2 billion to Customs and Border Protection to relieve overcrowding and to improve care. I don't know how that works, however, as these centers can only fit so many people.

The bill includes restrictions - some ever supported by Rs - that include no border wall funding. There is no support for extra beds, which was requested by ICE. There is also Congressional access to ORR built into the funding.

We shouldn't build more beds. Release them and they'll return for their hearings. Not detain them.

And this is the same party that claims to be fighting tooth and nail for fetuses? Why don't they care about actual living children?

Release a 2 year old with no parent?
We do release families, and most actually do not return for their hearing. That is just a fact.

Actually, the facts are that the 2 year old was separated from a family member, and the facts are that under the old system (ie Obama) the hearing rate was around 82%, so yes, some fell through the cracks, but most went to their hearings and were either accepted or deported.

These rates weren't seen under Obama. This is massive asylum fraud and the majority of cases are being rejected. The statistics on who is showing up are not currently 82%.

How do you know so much about this 2 year old. Please let us know which family member they were separated from, and why.

When we exist in two different realities with different facts, then we cannot communicate.
