Their defense will be that they have clean records prior to this and this was all done out of love for their children and they sacraficed so that their children could go on to have the best education. Blech! I seriously do not see jail time for the celebs at all.

No one saw jail time for Teresa and Joe Guidice either. Now they've done 5 years in prison between them AND Joe's being deported at the end of the month. Already heading into ICE custody. Being a celebrity doesn't make them above the law.

when it comes to cheating the educational system even the judge will be able to relate, considering he PROBABLY got into law school through the appropriate channels. he'll likely not be lenient on them. Or maybe I'm just hoping.

I could see them getting some jail time and other humiliation just to scare the crap out of all the other rich people thinking of doing this. People who want to keep up the Jones do not want the Jones to see them in orange jumpsuits.

She has had so much work done; I watched her on hallmark recently and it was very distracting. But obviously appearance is everything to her.

She looks amazing, everyone agrees. Who cares if she had work done.

She looks amazing, this is how you keep a man in your 50s

It would be exhausting. It’s one thing to put some effort into looking good. It’s another thing to be a slave to it. I can’t even imagine how much time she spends on Botox, hair, plastic surgery, etc. No thanks

An insane amount of botox and lots of makeup aren't hard to do, but some of us really like having facial expressions.

RIGHT? Not sure if this is the same poster as the one using all the happy faces, but it's not becoming to take such delight in others' misfortunes.

Loughlin's time has largely passed, but I think she has a much better chance of rehabilitating herself on a talk show or something.

I got such a kick out of seeing Felicity Huffman getting booked. No amount of punishment can amount to the public humiliation and shame that will be cast upon them. I also read that she asked if she could turn herself in vs. getting taken from her house??

The government was like NOPE!!!!! Come with us ma'am.

I'm totally enjoying this.

ah me too ! the audacity of it all. I mean she did look like sh!t, actually she looked like felicity Huffman as opposed to the pics of her with loads of make up on and aggressively straightened hair. In an industry where shallowness, backstabbing, faux smiles and circumstantial alliances are the norm she will learn quickly who are true friends are. #ByeFelicia

I hope they get the maximum penalty, fine and prison sentence. However, I think the humiliation alone is worth its weight in gold. I mean seriously...! How can she look at non-criminals with a straight face. Even Jussie Smollet is like... "damn girl. that's bold!"

Really? I feel like this is such a "little" crime. Who was hurt? Sure, maybe some kid didn't get in to his first choice school because the bribery-kid took his place, but really, he probably had similar back-up schools to go to. Let's be honest, we all push boundaries every day to make sure our kids succeed - most of us just don't have the extra cash they did to make it happen.

+1

It is a little crime in the grand scheme of actual violent crimes. It’s disgusting the amount of ppl who are delighting in the fallout.

Hahahaha. It's funny that you think this.

Right? Lots of people get special exceptions. Legacy admissions, parents who make huge donations so their kid can get accepted, parents who work their connections--many people get special treatment based on their family's money, fame, and connections. It's just that these people broke the law; others manage to do it legally. It's all variations on the same game, though.

American colleges are a mafia machine.

They did all this for their kids, and the irony is that they’ve ruined their lives (at least temporarily). Lori Loughlin’s daughter was doing really well without college on her YouTube channel/Instagram and now nobody will take her seriously. Her other daughter wanted to be an actress and she had a good shot with her parents’ connections, but who will hire her now? Their formerly pristine images are shot. People are really angry because they are the symbol of rich privilege and entitlement.

My DH pointed out that they probably saw this as a victimless crime, and he doesn’t necessarily think they should do jail time.

Oh wait, I'm the person you quoted who said "why?". I misread that the person was hoping the judge would not be lenient. I actually agree; I hope they get the full extent of the law thrown at them!

They shouldn’t do jail time.

And you are overestimating the younger crowd who would be interested in the daughter doing the lifestyle brand. The only ppl who care about this are older ppl. Most ppl already know the rich are privileged and entitled. They follow those ppl bc they want to be rich and privileged. There is a reason the Kardashians, for example, can remain relevant even though they have scandals and are disgusting.
