Right. But certainly looks better than those without anything to show just that. |
| I have to agree with the "decision tree" idea in terms of pool/vs. not in pool. FWIW: those of us who had high NNATs (>99%), our children were in-pool from first grade on, had earlier and more complex GBRS forms (from what I can tell from my other mom friends) and had a lot more pull outs. |
Would you include awards that they give out at school every grade period- "outstanding reader" or "Outstanding Math" etc? |
Sure why but? |
|
I don't think they expect 2nd graders to have any real awards. Keep in mind that the same referral forms are used for 3rd-6th graders applying for AAP. Upper elementary kids actually might have real awards for math, science, writing, geography, whatever competitions.
GBRS forms are the same. They don't give "better" or "more complex" forms for kids in pool with the NNAT. The biggest benefit to being in pool on NNAT is that the AART has more time to observe your child and gather samples. |
| Pool files are prepared first and reviewed first by local committee and central committee. And then referral files. So I think there is certainly an advantage if anything. |
Nothing today either.....seriously FCPS? |
Call your school |
Are you in 22182? |
| So Cogat composite is 131. Should we get a wisc? |
22182. Received in pool letter in backpack today. No CoGAT. Apparently it was mailed yesterday (1/10). |
If GBRS is high, a WISC shouldn't be necessary. |
HI How do you know you are not in the pool. 22015 zip code too and COgAT score was 138. |
Received pool letter by mail. No Cogat. |
Congratulations! Do you mind to share which school is this? We’re in the same zipcode. Nothing here! |
