Its ok, PP. STA WL is real. My son goes there and he had friends who were outright "no's" the year he applied. Hang in there and re-apply if the WL doesnt work out. 6th and 7th are great years for "un-hooked" applicants.

Sorry -- ignorant here. What does "unhooked" mean?

No hook ups or no connections.

Not sure why people keep claiming NCS has the better academics, Holton academics look great and their STEM/engineering stuff is astonishingly strong. Wish I could compare college lists but NCS doesn't publish theirs. Grrr.

DD thrives under pressure, which folks seem to think says NCS, but DH and I are conflicted. Love the facilities and forever-uniform at Holton, but the NCS commute is much easier.

Go to the follow up receptions at both schools. Ask more questions. You are in the driver's seat.

We have not gotten an acceptance email from GDS. But we haven't gotten a notification of waitlist or rejection. Does that mean that my daughter is definitely not accepted at GDS? They said they would mail letters, but I guess they emailed. I just want to put her (and me) out of her misery!

I'm in the same boat and I am preparing for a rejection or WL letter in the mail. I have seen comments that people called the school and where told there where no emails, but given how many people posted they received emails I think they are just lying because they don't want to deal with a caller who was rejected. Sorry for the both of us if it turns out I'm right.

Thanks 15:03 for your input. I am really disappointed in GDS for not sending all the notifications out at once - whether by email or mail. My daughter heard from her friends at school that they were accepted but she has to go through the pain of waiting to be told she is rejected! Very bad behavior on the part of the school. Just let everyone know at once and we can move on. I hope they read this forum.

In at Holton, outright rejection at NCS. Kind of scratching my head, but I think Holton will be a really good place for my daughter.

Interested in this as well. I found this on the NCS site: http://ncs.cathedral.org/Page/About/About-NCS/Facts. Can someone please post for Holton? I couldn't find it on their site. Also, found it interesting that NCS has 8 Presidential Scholars for 2016 but I never heard about it or saw it on their site.
