Where are Traditional Conservatives?

Or Trans reading hour at the library? Meanwhile, when was the last time a Democrat talked about health care? Or the environment? They don't because there is nothing there. Anti-Trump theater is the only thing that animates Democrats.

And Republicans are even worse. It's nothing but a cult of personality. There's no ideological underpinning anywhere. Just blind submission to an absurd narcissist in makeup. It's not even about returning to 19th Century Great Power politics since Republicans are doing everything possible to destroy America's national security. Republicans are beyond pathetic with their frightening devotion to a reality tv character.

So both traditional liberals and conservatives are politically homeless these days. I'd venture to guess at least 60 percent of the country hates both parties.

Moderate responsible politics don’t make for good TV or viral videos.

Rockefeller Republican here. TBH Herbert Walker was our last real Republican president. And I would argue Reagan was actually not a real Republican. W was the beginning of the GOP losing its way and then we had Citizens United which put the final nail in the coffin of GOP values. During the McCain Obama race, the GOP stood for making America the global leader in green technology.

To answer your question OP, the voice of conservatives has been drowned out by money from people who have no sense of patriotism or the common good. Trump is the caricature of that.

I have voted for Democratic Party candidates since Clinton even though many of their policy positions have been deeply troublesome.

We are appalled by this administration but even more appalled by the thought of a Harris presidency.

Then you aren't scared enough

And not very observant and naive. He low-key pulled these stunts when he was Trump 1.0

While I find Trump’s blunt, NYC-style of talk rather distasteful, and no one admires his family history of infidelity and divorce, his policies are the opposite of what you progressives have put in place over the THREE (3) terms of President Obama.

And let’s stop pretending it was demented Biden directing the country; Obama ran things from behind the curtain.

You cheered on the invasion of our country, demonized our police, and rammed through a truly weird transgender agenda in our public schools, which even my gay friends find really weird.

BTW - I do agree with you progressives in favor war in Ukraine until victory; I want to see Putin’s evil-empire 2.0 completely collapse because I have family in Europe, and I know there will never be peace or real security in Europe until the Putin / puppet Medvedev regime collapses. Putin can’t be trusted.

And I meant to add: you created a multi-billion dollar DEI or DEIA “industry.” The fact is:

DEI = racism. I cannot and will not support racism; will you?

DEI means I have an equal chance at landing the same job for the same pay as my male counterparts.

Do you trust Bloomberg news?

- 94% of jobs recently given EXCLUSIVELY to BIPOC Americans.

Does 94% given to ONE group sound like there was (as you put it) an “equal chance” in hiring? Read it yourself:

Yeah, so why don’t you provider the full detail? Most of these jobs for BIPOC hires were lower paying, entry level. The managerial hires were still a majority white. Moreover, white people still dominate higher paying / executive jobs.

Don’t worry, white people still have the advantage.

Not to mention that, when you are acknowledging and trying to recitfy a past injustice (not hiring people of color), well, yes the new hires are obviously going to be people of color. That was the point.

Fight racism with more racism.

And people wonder why young white males took a hard right.

I guess they should just "be cool" about being punished for stuff that happened before they were born. That's not realistic.

Like Black people and other minorities were supposed to just "be cool" with redlining, and women were supposed to just "be cool" with not being able to apply for a credit card in their own names, and people with ethnic sounding names were supposed to just "be cool" with realizing that if they just anglicize their names they'd finally land that job interview, and anyone other than white men were supposed to just "be cool" with the good old boy networks and golf course networking because no one else was allowed membership to the club - both literally and figuratively. GMAFB.

Sorry not sorry that when young white males finally had to actually compete and earn their place, they sometimes came up short. But yeah, when the shoe's on the other foot, doesn't feel so good does it? And no, this was never about two wrongs making a right. One is wrong, the other levels the playing field.

Damn right!

- and they expect us to just be cool with hundreds of years of slavery and we STILL don’t have any reparations for that? Oh hell no.

If you want to keep cutting off your nose to spite your (well, White People's) face, go ahead. Just remember, democracy is about majorities. If you want to win, you will not do so by insisting on policies hated by the majority of the electorate.

When ADOS talk about "slave-owning ancestry," they are talking about their own ancestry. Where do you think all that European DNA came from on those 23andMe results?

Everyone is so easily baited these days

This is a very good analysis of the situation. I feel as though you tapped in to my brain!

Traditional never Trump conservatives have been labeled cucks or cuckservatives by Don Jr and Elon. Unfortunately, they have been shamed and silenced into the wilderness.

Democrats seem like they are having a tug of war over the future of the party. Bernie had his own rebuttal for the address to congress separate from Slotkin. That was really saying something. Several democrats also voted for the Laken Riley act.

Republicans will keep winning until Democrats (1) start developing reasonable policy positions, (2) stop pandering to fringe interests like transgender politics, (3) likeable, moderate candidates like Bill Clinton, and NOT like Kamala Harris.

Because Republicans would rather elect someone who is dangerous for the country rather than compromise.

You all seem like the rigid ones

Oh, so the MSNBC wing of conservatives isn’t happy with Trump. Shocker. Meanwhile every conservative I know is very happy with the swamp drainage underway.

Doubt that. The conservatives that I know. believe in the Constitution, limited government, and constraints on executive power. This administration is running with an argument that there are on constraints, other than impeachment, on the executive and that advice and consent, as well as the power of purse, don't exist.

The Lincoln Party folks are the very traditional conservatives who are the subject of this thread. No, they do not support democratic causes. They do support AMERICAN causes. It just shows how far off the rails MAGA is.

Liar. America voted MAGA.

Because they aren't real conservatives. They are nihilists motivated only by spite and greed.
