Charles Allen faces recall effort

Anonymous
I might move back to DC if they start locking criminals up and the rate of crime comes down. But I think the city will have to return to 80s style rot before it can start to improve. It’s slowly descending into a Gotham-esque hellscape.

I'll be shocked if petitions are not approved with this level of support for a recall effort. It does send a signal to the Council in somewhat real time. The Sentencing Commission nominee, and Allen's support, really irked me.

The current situation is worse than the 80s because the crime is much more random, more violent and no neighborhood is safe.

The innocent are much more targeted.

Never forget this re: Charles Allen or DC Justice Lab, his puppet master. If you care about rapists being accountable, it is impossible to support either. No decent person advocates for the early release of the rapist of a young child. He is unfit for office.

Utterly abhorrent.

Any safety loving resident, anyone attempting to raise a family in DC, or anyone who cares about your property value needs to donate what you can to this recall effort. We don’t live in Ward 6, but we still donated. There’s not much time left to fix this.

If you don't live in Ward 6, this sounds like fraud. Can we get the government to freeze these accounts?

This person's mind is gonna explode when he sees how much money JLG has raised from people who don't live in Ward 4 (or don't even live in DC at all).

DP: It's obviously legit money, but it doesn't correlate to support in his actual Ward, which is where the signatures will need to come from in order to proceed with the recall. We know this money is mostly coming from GOP ops so we have to see what happens next.

I didn’t like donating the $500 max. Could really use that money. But it’s a lot cheaper than moving.

It came out at the "forum" the other evening that kids call DYRS "the playground." Given minimal education and lots of time spent playing tax dollar purchased games of Call of Duty and GTA, not so much of a punishment or deterrent. In the 90s kids went to places in MD they preferred to avoid. That was better for the public and for the kids, many of whom were diverted, rather than groomed into, a life of crime.

It is as though Schwab and others are purposely engineering a young criminal class. Truancy is not enforced. Kids are caught and released even for violent or gun crimes. Very Lord of the Flies but engineered by adults. To what end? Not the benefit of the kids, many of whom end up dead at a young age.

I remember that. They used to get sent to oak hill or whatever it was called in MD. I didn't realize that was gone? It seems like now the city babysits them for a little and then releases them?

You could also look at the names and profiles of the people who are consistently boosting the recall posts on X and make pretty clear inferences.

Gotham is usually means NYC. DC crime rates are higher than those in NYC.

Were you trying to prove the opposite of your point or are you even dumber than you seem? Or just a fan of child rapists?

How about we look at the 70% goes to salaried nonprofit his wife runs? Also who cares? I’ll do everything to get him out just because he’s inept and harmful to the life as we know it.

The replies here are everything Chuck and his supporters need to know. People HATE him, and my favorite is the call to investigate his finances.

He’s gone. I hope not without an investigation
