With AI being cheaper, faster and more accessible seems like the “professor” career with be a dead end for most. Technology of many forms just renders it obsolete in many many cases |
Why not name names here??? IF this is true. |
DP but why do you want to know their names? To harrass them? |
Does Turley count? |
As mentioned above, Jonathan Turley is the managing partner of MAGAlaw and he teaches at George Washington. UPenn Law has that crazy anti-Asian immigration lady Amy Wax. Ilya Shapiro quit Georgetown Law, he wasn’t fired. John Eastman is at Chapman University Law. The Federalist Society has a whole faculty division. They are at tons of different colleges and universities as you can see here: https://fedsoc.org/conferences/24th-annual-federalist-society-faculty-conference |
Eh, this is true. I worked in academe and there are many more conservative professors than you would think, they just don't tend to be fascists. I'm a different pp, and wouldn't want to sick the MAGA fascists on regular conservative professors. At this point, to be a professor, you either have to have a trust fund, a rich family, or eat ramen for the rest of your life paying back student loans. Which is why I left and found a better paying position. |

George Mason, a publicly funded VA University has a libertarian think tank. Lots of graduates hired by the DOD and local contractors too.
The Mercatus Center is an American libertarian, free-market-oriented non-profit think tank located at George Mason University. It's not 1967 anymore "liberal commie professor' posters. It's just that if you are intelligent enough be a university professor, you tend to be smart enough not to vote for demagogues like Trump or DeSantis, even if you are conservative. |
Bingo |
When professors start having their speech censored, they will leave UF. Every one now is hoping the courts will save them from DeSantis. What he has imposed is blatant censorship. He even has canceled majors he disagrees with. This kind of stuff doesn't happen overnight. I went to UF and loved it. But wouldn't send my kid there now. |
On to another victory Joe! We all know how this movie ends...we all watched it in 2020. |
| So now that we've let you know there "are* actually conservatives in universities, the right wing pps are resurrecting an Obama misstep from 2008 from 15+ years ago. Got it. |
|
Zero evidence of even 10% of conservatives in your average college. ZERO. |
Maybe conservatives don’t value scholarship and don’t wish to be in higher Ed? Maybe if a conservative is smart enough to be a scholar, they prefer to find waya to make money instead, given their general philosophy? Maybe as you more deeply study subjects - any subject - you become more open minded and liberal? |
Probably because higher ed opens up minds. |
Actually, your average college has even more conservatives than the higher ranking colleges. I worked for one. At my former academic place of employment, I would say that at least 30-40% of the the School of Business and the Political Science / Sociology department were conservative. One of the sociology professors was known to hoard guns and checked out every single gun book we had in the college library. And about 20% of STEM professors. Three of the librarians and more of the support staff were conservative. Most of the conservatives are real loudmouth blowhards when they aren't teaching, so it's not hard to identify them. |
