Tourism/beaches is huge for the FL economy, and the beaches/natural beauty are a big reason people move to FL. PhDs in ecology, biology, hydro and geology are important for FL. Most people know this.

I’m concerned about Bill Gates experimenting with releasing certain mosquitos in Florida. How can that be a good idea?

You understand that having miles of beaches unusable because of ecology issues becomes and economic development and revenue problem, right?

In any case, people keep coming, so there’s hardly a shortage of Florida residents. Construction is booming.

I'm a liberal and I say "good". When the old folks in Fla can't find a nurse who can read their chart or properly administer meds because they are ignoramuses, maybe they will say to them selves "hmm, perhaps we should not have driven the educated out of the state".

Actions, consequences.

Also, let them make enemies of Disney and hopefully decimate their economy. Reap, sow.

I'm concerned about doctor evil (Musk) exploding rockets on launch pads and getting a free pass from Florida. How can that be a good idea?

People keep showing up to casinos as well but that doesn’t mean that they aren’t suckers getting ripped off!

Florida has always been boom/bust. Every new wave thinks they have it all figured out until the bust comes and then they all turn into bitter old Florida crazies until the next wave comes through and it all repeats.

Oh yes, I'm sure the ecology department at Florida Atlantic University is absolutely critical to maintaining the beaches. Whatever will Florida do without its academics?!

It’s better for those worthless idiots to have their oversized paychecks reduced by confiscatory level state taxes.

State/federal attempts to stifle critical thinking, devalue expertise, restrict acceptable content in curricula, and narrow the range of acceptable public discourse are hallmarks of fascism. But you would have known that if you were better educated.

Free speech and gun rights are fascism’s vaccine.

He put a measly $1M into a huge research field. It is intellectually weak of you to bring him up in this regard. Maybe you should consider that Florida's governor -- a person who actually has control over approval of this -- allows it.

Disney's is booming in Florida. Unless they are wiling to move the property, they are going to have to keep investing in it. Do you really think Iger is going to decide that DeSantis is mean and write off Disney World and move to a more welcoming state?
