This is probably not the place for explicit descriptions of the results and complications of bottom surgery, but I think it is extremely unfair to call someone a bigot for recoiling at the idea of it and at it being done to young people who often have a range of other psychological issues |
So there is no ban for adults. Did you even read your own link? That Now for confirming my point. |
Kids aren’t getting bottom surgery. People are losing their minds over social transitions and puberty blockers because they’re terrified they won’t be able to look at a person, and figure out what kind of genitalia they have. That’s creepy as hell. No one has the right to know what’s in someone else’s pants. |
Very few young people get bottom surgery. If you want to ban it for anyone under 18 then that's fine but is that enough? Would you actually be satisfied with that? How many people that are under 18 get it per year right now? |
It’s banned in practice, not in theory. They changed the laws about who could prescribe and three changed the litigation rules for malpractice claims related to gender affirming care. Malpractice insurers aren’t going to offer insurance if the liability risk lasts forever. So, they have, in practice, stopped doctors from being able to offer this care. |
They won’t be satisfied with that. Look at how they react to social transitions. |
How are their rights being taken away when they are partying at the White House and freely holding pride parades all over the country? No other group gets as much positive publicity from public and private institutions. I can't wait for straight pride month celebrations...but we don't have that do we? |
This is not a right. File your lawsuit and take it up to the Supreme Court. |
Your response is very disingenuous I didn’t say kids were getting it - I said young people - stipulate a 20 year old then People aren’t opposed to puberty blockers because they’re curious about what’s in anyone’s pants. They’re opposed because they haven’t really been studied long term, and the stuff about them being reversible increasingly appears to be marketing baloney. |
Why would any insurer back doctors who are performing experimental surgeries on people with a diagnosed mental condition? This is lobotomies all over again. |
It isn't a lobotomy and adults have the bodily autonomy to transition if they want to. Why would anyone care what another adult does to their own body? |
A 20 year old is an adult. You're advocating restrictions on adults now. The very thing you or someone else like you is claiming states aren't doing while ignoring that FL is doing that by restricting cares to only MDs. |
It’s way more complicated than that. You think hormones therapies and gender changing drugs are risk free? No, when you mess with the endocrine system with growth hormones and other hormone regulating drugs, you heighten the risks for a slew of major health problems like cardiovascular disease to cancer to strokes. Yet democrats want MINORs to make informed health decisions for elective procedures that could significantly harm their health in the future when democrats keep telling us those same minors have immature brains and not fully developed decision making skills when it comes to crime. It’s so, sooooooo hypocritical. |
Minors aren't making decisions without their parent's agreeing to them. |
You haven’t been keeping up to date with what Democrats are pushing for. They want minors to be able to decide even without parents. https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/transgender-minors-protected-from-estranged-parents-under-washington-law https://www.kptv.com/2023/04/17/washington-bill-would-allow-transgender-medical-procedures-minors-without-parental-consent/ What could possibly go wrong with the same minors who make TikTok ideas eating Tide pods making decisions to take gender influencing drugs with significant side effects that heighten risks for major health issues over the long run? |
