For all those who defended this because "little kids don't need to know about homosexuality" -- we told you this was coming.

12th grades are still babies in my book, I still have underwear and clothes that are 17-20 years old. We don't need to know what they are doing in the bedroom. we pay them to teach X2-X2/ Y2-Y1= OR Y=MX+B, we don't teach them to talk about their life style or personal life or whatever.

Well, when your teachers and administrators start to encourage transition behind our backs and tell us that we, as parents, don’t matter, we tend to push back.

By “encourage” what you mean is “not condemn” a student who is trans. We know what you really want is to tell kids who probably already feel out of place that they are freaks and need to suppress their feelings.

We want them guided back to sanity by reasonable adults, not activists.

You want to push them to the brink of suicide is what you want.

the only thing a teacher does is call the child by their chosen name and use their pronouns. You are making up scenarios in your head to feed your narrative. If you want that much control over your children and prevent them from being exposed to others dissimilar to them, you should homeschool. Otherwise let the professionals do their job and shut up. Your ignorance is showing.

DP. You aren't paying attention. Or else you're unwilling to discuss in good faith. Not sure which.

Specific examples of harm to kids as a result of teaching in schools. Still waiting, pages later, nobody has anything but vague replies, smoke, mirrors and distraction.

DP, but sarcastically, I think Florida is addressing the “problem” that “normal” homophobic parents of “normal” kids who bully gay kids and call other kids gay slurs frequently, as “normal” Florida kids do and always have done, are afraid that their “normal” kids will be devastated and traumatized if a teacher is allowed to suggest that there might be something wrong with “normal” homophobia. Similar to the horror of shaming “normal” racist kids with “normal” racist Florida parents if they use the n-word. Think of the bigots and bullies. Their right to bully must be protected by the state. [sarcasm but very close to the truth]

So you agree that anyone younger than the 12th grade should be able to get an abortion because we should not have babies raising babies, correct?.

They shouldn't be doing it. we need to teach them to write till they get married, or they have money to take care of a kid

When a kid has two gay parents, are they allowed to talk about their parents to their friends in school according to your rules, or only the kids with heterosexual parents are allowed?

Their sweet young children get exposed to books and learning and maybe even college and then come back liberals

So it’s fine to teach religion? What bad could happen?

They were in the closet fool. Now gay or straight, teachers can just relax and go about their business teaching and have a picture of their family in the classroom or speak about their families and it is not a big deal...unless they have a stressed out homophobe like you in the class

Growing up in the Midwest I knew a lot about my teachers. Personal lives, their children, their husbands, their hobbies we even trick-or-treated at their houses. Act like there was this iron curtain between teachers and students back in the day. If a gay teacher wants to talk about his husband or her wife who gives a flying f.

My teachers shared their personal lives only occasionally. I don't ever recall a teacher talking about their spouse, though there may have been occasional mentions of their spouses. The only thing share that I really remember was that my French teacher found out that she had played with "little Bobby Zimmerman" when she was a child: AKA Bob Dylan.
And, another teacher who was friends with Harper Lee as a child.

Does this law mean that a teacher or staff that happens to be LGBTQ and gets "outed" would potentially be in violation of the law? It's one thing to limit the teaching of homosexuality to the curriculum or give parents an out (not that I agree with it), but it seems to be an entirely different matter to jeopardize someone's career simply for who they are, whether they've mentioned it or not.
