No it was preplanned. She was divorcing him. This was all about money. Paul was costing him money with the boat law suit, Maggie was going to take half. Buster was an asset (graduated law school), Paul and Maggie were liabilities. |

As a divorced wife, I understand a lot of divorcing wives get murdered.
But his own son? His son who he moved heaven and earth to protect? I do think he's guilty and it's unbelievable. |
+1 AND don't get drunk, period. Don't be out alone drunk. Too dangerous. Bad characters with no conscience will take advantage of you. |
| The boating accident happened in February and the kids were all 19. Didn't any of them go to college??? |
Other than Paul, what would make you think they didn't go to college? I've read that Mallory Beach was attending college at the time of her death. |
I don't know about college for any of them, but having grown up near the water, I don't know any experienced, responsible boaters who think it's okay to be out on a boat drinking at 2:30 a.m. |
They explicitly took the boat because Paul already knew there would be DUI checkpoints on the roads that night. The entire intention was for the group to drink & Drive the boat. Both Mallory Beach and Paul Murdaugh went to the University of South Carolina. It seems that they were home for the weekend from college, which I’m guessing is pretty typical given that SC is such a small state. Plus rich kids can go and party on their parents’ properties and boats for the weekend, eat a home cooked meal, etc. All of them had their own cars. Their hometowns were less than two hours from the university. |
| Paul had recently been suspended or expelled from U. of South Carolina law school for cheating. Doubt that he will be readmitted now. |
| ^^Sorry, I meant the oldest, surviving son. |
Buster transferred and still graduated |
|
Paul was attending USC at the time of the crash and after.
Buster attended Wofford and graduated. Then went to USC Law for a year when he was kicked out for plagiarism. Alex paid someone named "Butch" $60k to try to get him back in but it failed. This last bit of info came from the jailhouse tapes. |
Buster did not graduate law school. |
| All those kids went to USC, Clemson, Wofford, etc. None wanna leave SC. |
| Wtf is Wofford? Is it a decent school? |
Most kids wouldn’t leave if they had rich parents - there’s a beach house, boats, thousands of acres to hunt & fish, ATVs, shooting guns, cookouts, tons of booze…no the kids don’t want to leave. They were expected to take over the family business or “marry well.” |
