| So are Morgan and Miley still friends- the last episode seemed rushed, they just alluded to the friendship being "different" after the boating incident. |
They did an American Greed on him and really dove into the financial stuff. I'm not sure if this is covered here - I don't have Netflix - but he essentially admitted liability, encouraged the family to then sue his insurance, and gee, he couldn't represent them because that would be wrong, but here's this other attorney who can help you. He worked in cahoots with that guy and they fleeced that family but good. |
| I was shocked at what a d-bag Paul was. Good riddance. |
And he wasn't even cute! Yes, I said it. Can't believe those kids (the girls especially) put up with him! |
I feel like this is a classic relationship based on money/power. These girls put up with it in the hopes of marrying into (what they thought) was a high-powered, rich, influential family in the area. Why would a gorgeous 20-something date a guy in his 50s? Probably not for his good looks and winning personality. |
Who are you talking about? |
Did I miss part of the Murdaugh story?? What 20 year old was dating a guy in his 50's?? I wouldn't doubt it for money but I don't recall this. |
Yeah confused by what PP is talking about. |
| I saw a tiktok that had a theory I thought made sense. That he hired a hit man to do it and paul wasn't supposed to be there. And that is why he's so seemingly distraught in the 911 call and says 'why did you get into that paul' or something like that. He just meant to kill the wife, but the kid was there unplanned and both got killed. |
That doesn’t make any sense. The kennel video has Paul talking to Cash and Alex and Maggie talking in the background. If you can hear the two of them, they can hear Paul. So Alex wouldn’t have been surprised to know that Paul was there. I think he and Maggie had a fight. She said something that made him flip and he went after her. Paul saw it, got in the middle and Alex shot him, before shooting her. |
Sorry, I meant it as an example of why the girlfriends put up with the BS. Murdaugh didn't have a younger woman. |
| This whole thing reminds me of a less trashy "Tiger King" Just when you think you know where the story is going, Bam, someone is murdered and fed to a tiger... |
It was good to see her perspective. For Lent and hopefully all time I have given up true crime documentaries, podcasts, etc. This is huge for me as I have been very interested in such things since my early teens and reading F. Lee Bailey’s The Defense Never Rests and Vincent Bugliosi’s Helter Skelter. For several years now though I have been more and more troubled by the depictions of some notorious crime’s especially after years of practice in the criminal justice system and knowing how one sided the versions of stories can be and that ratings are the driving force in most such works for television especially- integrity is often absent from the process of reporting these stories via whatever medium. Besides being more than a little depressing, true crime media is unquestionably exploiting the pain of victims and even the loved ones of notorious killers and I just don’t want to be a part of supporting it anymore. |
Yep. Reminds me to tell my kids, if you EVER have doubts about riding with someone, I will pay for any uber, I will come pick yuu up in freaking Ohio or Michigan or whatever, do not let a drunk drive you! |
It seems like they were still friends with him after he murdered their friend? Is that true or was I not paying close enough attention? |
