Two members of the board were nearly arrested for blatantly ignoring the grand jury subpoena. How is it a surprise that someone involved in this mess ended up under indictment?

The report claimed that the lawyer for the county intimidated everyone they represented. I believe it is just 1 lawyer who represented all the people on the LCPS side. It is not farfetched to believe that the PIO may have been intimidated into saying things by their legal representatives or even Ziegler himself. He has no reason to lie, but when you’re being spoken down to by your superiors, you may do things that you don’t really want to.

I remember reading a line in the report about Ziegler intimidating a subordinate administrator about something. The term “alpha-dogged” was used to by the subordinate to describe how Ziegler acted towards him. Don’t remember what the incident was about.

Then there was the incident of the 2 board members who was subpoenaed, and didn’t show up. When they were told they had 2 hours to arrive or be arrested, they immediately showed ups and stated that the lawyers told them to not show up.

All of this goes to show that even well educated people in high positions can do odd things that make no sense when they are being intimidated. Why did the PIO have to lie when he wasn’t even involved? Why did the 2 board members not show up even though they had nothing to do with the incidents? What are they afraid of? Did they really believe their lawyer’s words that they didn’t have to show up to court even if they got a subpoena? They think they can just ignore it and it will go away? They didn’t even google, “do I have to show up in court if I got a subpoena?” None of it makes any sense.

What do they have to hide? And why would a lawyer tells the clients to not show up to court when they been ordered to do so? What is the lawyer’s motive? To get the board members arrested??

Then there was a statement about the teachers who were also represented by the county lawyer. Apparently one teacher felt pressured into being represented by the county lawyer. She was not represented by him. But he claimed that he is representing her. She said he tried to shut her up and she was told not to cooperate. I’m surprised she could withstand that level of intimidation.

So it doesn’t surprise me at all if the PIO was told to say something that may be untrue even though it doesn’t benefit him at all. Because the goal could be not to benefit him but to benefit LCPS.

Side note - the boy was wearing a skirt. A few students who knew him will tell you he did not identify as gender fluid, it was just something that was done as a distraction.

It’s commonplace for admins to throw teachers and assistants under the bus and ignore problems. In my experience, I have met very very few admins who actually cared about their employees. How can any teacher or TA continue to work for these people? These admins who knowingly put them in a horrible situation without warning while they themselves are armed with way more information and knowledge about the danger that is walking around in their school.

Also, who was the person who got fired? Was it the TA? Another teacher? Admin?

The person who got fired and the reason Ziegler has misdemeanor charges has nothing to do with the stone bridge assault case. A teacher at Rosa Lee Carter elementary reported that a disabled 5th grader had groped her multiple times. When nothing was done she spoke at the school board meeting about it. She was later reprimanded and fired. For that reason, Ziegler was charged with retaliation and intimidation. That teacher currently has a suit against him/LCPS/her former principal.

So as employees we have learned you’re damned if you do report student concerns and damned if you don’t. Nothing will be done about it either but somehow if something ends up happening with that student, it’ll end up coming back on us. Good to know.

And that is why he will be exonerated. She wasn’t fired in retaliation. She was fired for violating student privacy rights.

Agree. These are such weak charges. I think the entire case will fall apart in an embarrassing way. The superintendent may have made serious mistakes and shown poor leadership under the circumstances, but not seeing the basis for criminal prosecution here. It just seems like a politically motivated attack on a school system the administration was already targeting. And highly suspicious that no law enforcement is being held accountable for their role.

Too many people too focused on trying to identify him as trans or gender fluid, when there is absolutely no evidence that was the case. It just serves as a political flashpoint to generate headlines and conservative outrage.
I went to high school in the 90s. A boy in my graduating class used to show up to school in a kilt on occasion. Not a Scot, not trans or gender fluid…just did it to get a response and attention.

I wish this was highlighted more. The only people who mention gender-fluid are national media when talking about LCPS. The actually people who went to school with the rapist, his teachers, his family - never claimed that.

Its to distract from the fact that this boy belongs in prison.
